Chapter 40

Lily’s pov

Osiris kept his word, he had not hurt Arden. But he did mention at the end of the week that Riker had tried to get more information out of Arden, but it proved to be useless. Arden would only talk to me or show me where he was supposed to meet the two people in the car. I would go with Arden if it was necessary for the pack, but I was really happy Osiris didn’t want me to. I felt so bad for Arden in the beginning and I still didn’t want to see him dead or hurt, but I hated him for making me so uncomfortable. That is one of the things I loved most about Osiris, he valued consent more than anything. He always checked to see how I was doing and if I was still enjoying myself. I knew Osiris would never hurt me or do something against my will.

Maybe it was my own fault though, I was dumb to put myself so close to someone I barely knew.

I should have kept some distance Arya tried to reassure me “stop blaming yourself Lily. You were nice, that’s it. Nice doesn’t mean someone can
