Chapter 64
Lily’s pov
I’ve been the official Luna of the Iron Lake pack for two days and honestly I don’t know what the hell I am doing. I am trying my best to come across as confident and try to stand next to Osiris as a proud Luna, but it’s different here than at home. At the Iron Lake pack everyone treats me with respect, but here they seem to dismiss my every word or action. They treat Osiris with either fear or hatred, but they act like I don’t exist. Is it the pack or me? Am I not good enough? “Stop Lily, you’re doing the best you can. You wanted to be here for Osiris and you are. You can’t control how people respond to you.” Arya said annoyed with my insecurities. She was right, I was here for Osiris and he clearly needed me now. We hadn’t been at the Midnight Blood pack for long and he had already found his grandmother locked in a cell. Not to mention the fact that this pack was all kinds of wrong, the way they trained their kids and how there were camera’s everywhere.

Lily’s pov I knew Osiris hated public speeches, but to be honest I hadn’t done many my self and I was so damn nervous. Osiris’ pov Lily was raging beside me, clearly pissed that I let Neron and Jean off so easily. Santos was equally pissed and trying to take over “they hired the rogues. They hired Arden. If it wasn’t for them our mate wouldn’t have been taken. They killed our pack members!” I tried to calm Santos down “I know, but I can’t take another child from my grandmother. And they have kids. I can’t start killing people on the first day here.” I turned my attention to Lily, Santos would have to wait. “Lily please. I need you to calm down. Lily’s pov I was glad Dionne said yes, even though it was super awkward at first. I had just threatened her son and Osiris had banished him and stripped him of his title. I knew she understood why Osiris made this decision, but it must be hard for her. Everywhere we walked people stared at us, some with happiness as if they finally felt free from under Alpha Kendrick’s thumb. But I also saw plenty of pack members that looked at us with disgust, hatred or fear. I knew Osiris had a reputation of being a ruthless killer, but it never bothered me. Even when I disliked Osiris, I still wasn’t scared by him. But walking with him through town and seeing all these looks I realized they must think the same about me now. Part of me laughed. Osiris’ pov Goddess, how I hate numbers. Riker is meticulous with our finances and he makes sure everything is easy for me to find. He has excel sheets and diagrams, everything to make it effortless for me. It is not that I don’t know how to do this, Beta William taught me when my parents died. Osiris’ pov “Alpha Osiris there is a large group of near the border. We are trying to keep them from escaping, but there are too many of them.” I knew Lily and Dionne would follow me wherever I headed so I ran to the location where my soldiers were as fast as possible. A group of wolves was fighting and I could see my soldiers were losing, so Lily and I jumped right in. This pack had already lost so many members, so I’d rather not kill more. But they came at us in full force, not holding back and clearly wanted us dead. “Let’s give them hell,” Santos said as we charged ahead. Lily’s pov After Osiris finally put me down I dried off and put some clothes on. We had skipped dinner to fight and the apple pies were still in the kitchen. “All you think about is food,” Arya joked. I laughed “I can’t help it if the food here is so bland. I was finally able to eat something with sugar and stupid Gamma Leo ruined it with his people.” I was joking of course, although I really was hungry. I hated that some people still tried to rebel against us, when all we tried to do was make the pack better. We didn’t punish anyone that didn’t deserve it, Osiris even spared Neron’s and Jean’s life. Osiris’ pov It’s been two weeks since we’re back at the Iron River pack. Like Emma suggested we asked my grandmother if she wanted to help us run the Midnight Blood pack in our absence. She accepted, but only if she could get the help from Neron and Jean. Dionne really seems to trust them, but I just hoped they would follow her lead. I wasn’t fully convinced I made the right decision so I promised I’d be back by the end of the month to check on them. Lily wanted to join, but her brother’s birthday was that week and she had planned to go back with Emma to surprise him. So for the first time since she was back we would be apart again. But luckily it wouldn’t be for another two weeks so I was planning to make the most our time here. Now that the Midnight Blood pack was part of our pack we were the largest pack in the country and that title came with it’s responsibilities. I had been working a lot, finding out which of the Midnight Blood’s allies we could trust.
