CHAPTER 8
Friday came and although the last conversation wasn’t smooth, Zane chose to play with Zeev and Tyr. As planned, the two invited Zane to go to the field but he asked them to leave first. Keira hasn’t been her usual self lately and he wanted to invite his best friend to watch the game.
“It’s only one game. It won’t be long.” he insisted.
“I’m really sorry, but Theo and I have other plans already.” Keira cutely pouted, albeit a bit pretentious and Zane could definitely tell.
So, he didn’t want to push it. “Alright. Take her home after, Theo.”
Theo just nodded and smiled before the two exited the room. When they were alone, Theo immediately spoke.

The semester is about to end. However, Keira felt bad that she’s been avoiding her best friend for quite a while now despite Zane telling her sorry any chance he gets. Apparently, this book tells Zane studies of werewolves back in time, evidence of their existence and behaviors of this mythical creature. However, aside from those case studies and other theories, most of what is written in the book are already known to Zane. The afternoon sun casted long shadows of trees on the ground. The leaning rays of setting sun glazed warm and orange tinge to the sky. Summer is indeed here as Zane’s entire body feels the warm temperature rising. But that’s not only because of the season. The beads of sweat gracing down his chin, neck, and down to drench his plain blue shirt are making it even warmer in the humid weather. Laser focus, back slightly bent down, and knees finding stable balance from his feet on the ground, Zane tried to steady his breathing, albeit calculated, and eyes narrowed, afraid to miss something.
