(Ethan’s POV)

“You wanted to attack without knowing the ground, Oliver,” I said, hoping I hid my fear for the Rodriguez well. “About the knife, I thought it was a gift.”

“Gift?’ he repeated the word, walking and sitting on the couch in the middle of my office. “And Izobel?”

“What about her?” I asked, looking at the door when it opened. Janice came in with two cups of freshly brewed coffee.

“Izobel’s on her way.” She said, and when I nodded, she went out of the office quietly.

“Janice never liked me, huh?” Oliver uttered as he picked up the cup and sipped coffee.
