Chapter 40

Derek’s POV

The last thing I remembered before I slept was I was holding my mate in my arms and Stacey snuggling closer to me, but in the middle of the night, she just not untangled herself but almost threw me away from the bed forcefully. It wasn’t that she was strong like a hulk, and I was weak as a kid. It was just that I was not prepared for that, and her attack was all of a sudden. Because I could have understood anything, Stacey ran toward the washroom, and the sound of her puking followed after that. I quickly recovered from my state and ran to check on her.

Just like the other day, I saw her kneeling in front of the toilet, her face in the toilet bowl. I took a few steps more and kneeled by her side, and caressed her back, whispering soothing words in her ear.

I knew this was not going to help, but at least it would make her feel good, knowing that someone was by her side. When she was done, I cleaned her up instead of letting her do it on her own. I couldn’t share the pain
