Hayley opened one eye, then the other, looking at her final score. She got all perfect scores, expect in Wolf Anatomy. Simply because she didn't know how to explain what it was like to undergo the shift.
But she didn't care. She still passed, and it was now the end of the last school year for her, so was it for everyone else. Well, not everyone, just those that finished their schooling and didn't get held back for another year.
Even though Hayley was happy to be finished with school, she was not excited for one thing.
At the end of school for the senior year students, they all have to do an impossible obstacle course, one that placed them in their class of work.
It could be in the office, or out in the fields, or even being a guard. Whatever it was, once you are finished with school, you have to go through with the course.
Hayley sighed as she, and the other seniors made their way to the gym. It was as if she was walking to her end.
"H
Ok to avoid you all getting upset and think that Hayley is annoying. You should know that the reason for her conflicting mind in wanting to leave the pack but never truly does is because of Davina using her charm spoke ability on her. With her constantly telling her that she should leave and is a nobody, Hayley believes this and is filled with self doubt and hate.
"Hayley, you need to wake up." Kane shook her from her sleep. Hayley groaned, rolling over, "no." "Yes, you have work and if you are late, I have to listen to Conrad complain." "Work!" Hayley sat up in bed at that. "Yes, so go get ready." Kane told her, getting off the bed. Hayley hurried to get ready, then rushed from the house. Making it just in time for her shift to start. There wasn't much to do, just to walk around and make sure that there wasn't any funny business going on. Mainly to make sure no were kinds tried to sneak in or out and tried to steer away any wondering humans. Even though Hayley was included in the 'make sure no one tries to leave', she found it somewhat ironic. She always wanted to leave, now she had to make sure no one did. She also had to make sure that parties are turned off when they should. Which earned her the name party police, or party pooper. But she was more than glad to
When Hayley woke up and it was well past five, her hair was a tangled mess, and half her body was hanging off her bed. She groaned before rolling out of the bed, to drag herself to the bathroom, feeling lightheaded as she went. It felt like the best sleep she ever had in a while. After getting all cleaned up, Hayley went downstairs for food, which the maid, Amy, was just about finishing up with. "Good evening, young lady. The Alpha wanted you to know that we finally got lactose free milk for." The maid told her. "Thanks, that was thoughtful of him." "Now eat up. I made liver and beans." The older woman said. Hayley almost gagged at the sound at that. “Really?" When Amy lifted the cover off the pot, the smell hit her, causing her to dry heave. "No, I think I'll go to the diner. Today, have a little breakfast for dinner,'' Hayley told her, then hurried upstairs for her bag, before rushing downstairs again and out the fron
"Hayley, can you talk to me for a second, please?""About what?""Wh-""Your second is up. I don't want to hear anything from you." Hayley cut Kane off."No, what you just saw, that meant nothing. Davina means nothing to me.""Trying telling that to her. And please leave me alone. I'm not into all the games."''It's not a game."Hayley didn't respond. Instead, she went to take a shower, then pulled the sheets off the bed and slept in the bathroom.Hayley jumped from her sleep, covered in sweat, with her heart racing. Not only was she snoring, but she had a very weird dream as well. She was in the forest all by herself, covered in blood. There was howling and that was all the dream showed over and over, all around her, just blood and howling. She didn't understand what her dream meant.Even though she knew that she was supposed to visit Nola, the foresight wolf to understand her dreams better, but thou
"I should get going. I have a new location toady." Hayley said, getting up and brushing off her pants. "Be careful out there." Kane told her. Hayley had to patrol the edge of the town by herself. She had no problem doing it when it's daytime. This night seemed extra dark because of the pending rain, with clouds blocking out the moon and stars. The place was also quiet, as if it was holding its breath. 'The calm before the storm, they always say,' Hayley thought. She wasn't feeling any better either. She still had dizzy spells, and a headache, which she pinned on the fact that her period was near. Hayley paused for a while, when her head spun. Her mind drifted to the quietness of the forest. The usually loud forest, with it's busy night creatures, seemingly took an unasked for vacation. There was a loud crack, like a tree branch or something. Hayley looked around, but she didn't have night vision like the wolves,
A cry was what made Hayley come to. When she did, she noticed Axel on the ground, badly hurt and bleeding.Whatever had attacked them was long gone.Hayley felt light-headed from being hung upside down for so long. Suddenly the rope broke. The next thing she knew, she was falling. She twisted her body to try landing on her feet, but that was the wrong thing to do.When Hayley fell, twisting her right ankle. The pain caused her to cry out and fought back her tears. But through it, she tried to move closer to Axel to make sure he was ok, but the effort was too much, and she passed again. When Hayley came to, she was in a room, in a very comfortable bed, with thick, warm dark blue duvet sheets up to her chin, soft pillows under her head, and a finely carved head post behind her back. The room was thick with a very delectable, but familiar, cologne.Even though it was morning, the curtains were still drawn, maybe to not disturb her
Hayley stuffed a few clothes in her duffle bag, took one last look around the room and left. She walked to the edge of the town without looking back, then crawled under the wire.''You really like trouble, don't you?"Hayley looked over at Aspen. He only had on a pair of ripped jeans and was eating an apple."Nice seeing you again. I'm actually glad that you came. I want your help to cross the mountain.""I'm afraid I can't do that.""Why not?""Because if is dangerous, you have no food and no proper clothing, you won't survive for even a day.""Ok, then tell me why you call me Ciri the first time we met?""Yeah, so maybe if we follow the river to its source, we can get to the mountain, but it won't be easy." Aspen said."Fine, never mind. I'll figure things out on my own." Hayley walked off after that.Aspen didn't go after her, thinking that she would stop, but Hayley didn't. Instead, she walked on, follo
Instead of going back to the place she had called home for some many years, Hayley continued on. Determined to find somewhere else to live, but she soon felt sluggish.Which caused her to stay in the same cave she stumbled upon for two days. All she did while there was cry, feel sorry for herself, eat wild berries and cry some more. She would also hide whenever she thought she heard voices and cry some more.On the third night, she was trying to get a fire going, but failed miserably because she didn't know what to do.And because of that, she was on edge, wondering if the vampire would find her, thinking that he would come for her anywhere she was.Doubting the pack could stop him, or even would stop him now that she wasn't a member anymore.Suddenly she dubbed over, dropping to the ground, and held onto her stomach. It felt as if she had been kicked with large, heavy metal boots.Hayley began to convulse, and could feel
"I am honestly glad that you are ok. And glad that I found you in time." Kane said to Hayley as he helped her to her feet."Could have left me to die, even though I'm sure Aspen would have come along." Hayley told me."Aspen?""That bear guy I'm in love with." Hayley said, her voice and face serious, so Kane couldn't tell if she was joking."Oh him.""Yeah, he's an ok guy."And just like that, everything seemed to be good with Hayley and Kane again, as they sat on the ground or walked around until Hayley's shift was over."You're welcome, with my company and all.""Whatever." Hayley said to him.Wanting him to know that not because he gave her chocolate meant that he was forgiven so easily. And she still had it in the back of her head that it was all a prank. That Davina was somewhere, watching, growling and snapping her teeth, just ready to tear her apart. While Sam was watching, laughing her head o
