Chapter 1

"Your highness, we are under attack again." a guard rushed in panting.

He stood up from where he was sitting and changed to his wolf form. Thanks to the moon goddess the door was big enough to allow him to pass. His wolf was big and it was brown. It has a black paw and was one of a kind. His father who was the late Alpha had the same color of the wolf as his. A lot of people have said that it was a different one and does not come by easily. Up till now, he does not know what it means nor did he want to know. It has not brought him any luck since he became the Alpha aside from the fact that it was good at fighting and has a clearer vision in the night, it has nothing else that is special about it that he knows of. His pack has been a very strong one until the last full moon when an anonymous attack came in. They loosed a lot of lives in the first attack because they were not expecting it. They had thought it would be the end but there was still a lot in store for them. They continued to face different attacks after the first one and were not being able to trace it back to any source. It all just seemed like magic to them but there was nothing like magic in the wolf world.

He ran as fast as he could to reach the border, a lot of his men were on the floor, some in their wolf forms, others in their human form. His heart sank the moment he saw this. His wolf felt it in him that something was wrong. He could say that all their efforts has been in vain and the number of guards in his pack now was less than a hundred. He moved forward to inspect them maybe he would find an enemy body but all he found out was that some of their people were still breathing. He mind linked Malcolm, his trusted guard, and told him to get the pack doctor for him. They were under an attack yesterday morning and now today night also. He had gone to stay at the border and inspect a lot of times, sometimes sleeping there but nothing never happens. It was always when he leave that the attack comes in.

At the beginning of all this, he had thought there was a spy in the pack but he held that thought back when everyone he could think of to be a spy died in the attack. It became a bothersome thing to him because he felt like he was the one killing them. He went around the field but found none of the enemy's body. It was not a surprise to him but the tiny hope he held to find one shattered immediately. He shifted to his human form and started carrying the guards that were still breathing.  He couldn't afford to lose this one also.

Malcolm ran to the village as fast as he could. It was hard keeping up with the attack because they never get a warning, it just comes anytime it wants to and ends when they kill at most half of the people om the field. He got to the pack doctors house and met it opened. He entered and met the pack doctor packing his stuffs in a bag. Seems like he was leaving the pack, Malcolm thought.

"The Alpha sent for you." Malcolm said to the pack doctor.

The pack doctor looked up and eyed him up and down.

"Sent for me? For what? Go back to him and tell him that I won't be able to come. I have an important place to be than this pack." The pack doctor said to Malcolm and continued packing his loads.

He has his reason for deciding to leave the pack. All of his sons were killed in this attack. He received the news that the last one was killed in todays attack. But what could he do? His mate died when giving birth to his first son. He was the remaining survivor of their family and he could not allow their legacy to die down just like that. He had to continue and he could not let a useless Alpha that could not hold a pack destroy that for him.

Malcolm looked at the pack doctor weirdly. How dare he talk about his Alpha just like that? Even if he has anything to say, he had to say it with respect and not just shabby like that.

"He said to be quick." Malcolm said as a warning to the pack doctor.

"Go back and tell him I won't be able to come." The pack doctor replied.

"Then I have no choice than to take you forcefully then." Malcolm said and moved towards the pack doctor.

The pack doctor growled loudly and shifted to his wolf form. He snarled at Malcolm telling him to back off and let him have his way. Malcolm did not want to use this way on him because he was also a respected figure in the pack but had no choice. He had to obey what his Alpha sent him. He shifted to his wolf form also as they charged at each other. They started grunting and growling at each other. They broke a lot of things during this exchange and pure away the contents of the pack doctors bag away.

Malcolm hit the pack doctor at a fatal point making him growl in pain. It was not until they heard a loud growl that dominated theirs that they stopped what they were doing and now down. They looked up and saw the Alpha snarling at them, visibly angry with what he met them doing.

The pack doctor hissed in annoyance the moment he saw the Alpha. He was just hoping to hit the guard back when he came in. He just knew how to spoil things only. He turned back in his wolf form and went into his toilet to change his clothes.

The Alpha looked at Malcolm who was still in his wolf form and was staring at the floor. He mind linked him and told hm to get him a cloth to wear. Malcolm used his paw to pick a shirt and trouser from the pack doctors cloth and passed it to the Alpha.

By the time he was done changing the pack doctor was out and growled silently when he saw the Alpha in his clothes.

"You can't afford a piece of cloth also? Or you ruined yours already?" The pack doctor said to the Alpha.
