Chapter 11

Denver could not say anything anymore. He knew this, that he could not win against him. But hasn’t he still decided to go head on with him? He dropped down to the floor with a thud, he scrambled up and shifted away from Trevor.

“Get in and let’s continue. If we don’t get there before sunset. I will give you exactly what you deserve.” Trevor said with his back turned against Denver.

Denver did not know how he got to the carriage before Trevor. All he knew was that his feet took him inside and he met himself in the driver's seat. His mouth formed an ‘o’ as he panted loudly. His heart was pounding against his ribcage. The guard that was on the floor and had been looking at them shifted back to his human form and leaped to the carriage in his full glory. Trevor glanced at him, wiping the blood from his fingers away.

“Get down and pack your other mate to another side.” He said, still wiping his fingers.

The guard leaped back and pulled the dead wolf to the other side, finding some leaves to cover him up with. He leaped back inside the carriage and sat at a side, his leg was badly injured from the throw. Denver started the carriage and they continued the journey.

“What pack are you from?” Trevor asked.

“He’s a loner.” Denver answered from the drivers seat.

“Did I ask you?” Trevor said, glaring at the back of his head with widened eyes.

Denver clenched and unclenched his fist from the front seat. This was not the last. He was still going to make sure Trevor bowed to him.

“I’m sorry, your highness.” He replied with a clenched jaw.

Trevor closed his eyes after that. He was stressed about meeting a pack that has power than his and his own people sabotaged him. How was he not sure that Denver knew something about the attack? His eyelid started closing but he kept them up. He dared not sleep, who knew what next they would do to him?

The journey went on for more than three hours before they approached the border of the blue Britain pack. They approached it silently not making any noise with the carriage. They were getting to where the patrols when they discovered they’ve been surrounded. Denver stopped the carriage immediately and got down to speak to them. He came back after a minute with his face scrunched up.

“They said they won’t allow us to enter until they see our Alpha.” He said from the drivers seat.

Trevor opened his eyes and dropped from the carriage. The guards were all holding a flashlight which they flashed to his face as he approached them. One of them who must be their head guard walked towards him.

“Trevor, alpha of the red roger pack.” He said to them with a stern face.

The patrol officer could sense the domineering presence of someone before the Alpha got down. That was the main reason he asked that other one that came here spouting rubbish to go back.

“Who do you ask for?” The patrol officer said.

“I have to see your Alpha.” Trevor replied not taking his eye off the patrol officer for a bit.

“He did not tell me anything about a pack visiting him. The pack is under an attack. We would have to inform first before you can be allowed inside.” The patrol officer said.

Trevor walked back to the carriage and took his seat, his hands resting on his laps. Footsteps of people could be heard from afar. Trevor could feel a domineering character like him coming. He stepped out of the carriage and came to face with a broad chested, round faced man. His face was scrunched up in disgust. He stopped in front of Trevor, sizing him up with his eyes. Finally, he look up at Trevor and growled at him.

“Arghhhhhh.” Trevor growled back at him.

The Alpha looked at him up and down and smirked.

“Welcome to the Blue Britain pack. You, lead them inside.” He said and turned his back.

He signaled to the patrol driver who marched near him immediately. He whispered into his ear before nodding his head at Trevor and walking away. The patrol officer waited for their Alpha to disappear out of sight before facing Trevor.

“Follow me please.” He said.

Trevor went back in to the carriage. The patrol officer lead the way as Denver followed slowly. They arrived at a carriage house and met a guard feeding some of the horses available in there. Trevor got down from the carriage and looked all through the house. This was a lot of carriages, he thought to himself. Denver and the other guard packed their things from the carriage and carried them while they leave. They were taken to a different place while the patrol officer lead Trevor to another house.

Everyone was busy with something as Trevor entered the house. The patrol officer led him to the dining table before bowing down and going back to his post. Trevor pulled out a chair and sat down. The Alpha was not down yet. He took a deep breath and relaxed in the chair. He needed a bad sleep, he thought to himself.

••••••

Alpha Justin was upstairs looking for what to wear. He sat at the edge of his bed, wondering why the Alpha if the red roger pack could be here. Did the moon goddess tell him about the attack also, or they were facing the same attack? Nevertheless, he needed to attend to him. He had just met with the moon goddess this morning who told him he had just three days to meet up with the two packs or else she could not say what could happen to the pack.

“For a lowly pack like them, the start off was not so bad,” he murmured to himself.

He had growled at him at first to know if he could meet up with his standards or not. He does not care how bad his people might be hurting, if their Alpha was a weak person, he won't work with them. He still had his pride to keep. And now he had to make sure the Alpha was worthy of his time.
