Prologue

Shortly after Alpha Jacob declared the child as his mate, Selene watched as she snuck through the forest in an effort to escape captivity from the Alpha.

When Alpha Mark rejected Jacob’s claim over his daughter, he defended her with his life.

Fallon cried as she crept in the dark, for her fallen pack and over witnessing Jacob kill her father.

She listened as her newly acquired wolf directed her where to go.

It was the reason Jacob wanted to claim her as his mate.

He said she was blessed by the Goddess when he laid eyes on her midnight blue wolf with white paws, tail, ears, and beautiful silver eyes encircled in gold.

She had made it to the next town over when suddenly a bag was thrown over her head and she was knocked out.

When she awoke the next day, she sat up to find herself laid in a twin sized bed wrapped up in a thin blanket.

The room was shabby and held only a small vanity, with a bathroom connected that could barely house one person.

She heard multiple voices coming from outside the door.

Suddenly an old man entered the room and glanced over at her.

“Get ready to help with the customers, you won’t live here for free girl!”

“Where am I? I want to go home?”

“You don’t have a home outside of here. You better get used to it!”

“I won’t stay here!”

“As long as you wear my branded collar, you will do as I say. Or I’ll drop you back off to Alpha Jacob to let him do as he pleases with you. You better be happy I’m not letting him mark you while you’re underage. How old are you?”

Fallon traced the collar around her neck as tears rolled down her face.

“Eleven…”

“I can only save you till your eighteenth birthday, afterwards he’ll come for you. You have seven years to prepare yourself.”

The innkeeper walked out of the room and waited for Gina to come help the girl get ready.

“Her name will be Golden until the Alpha comes for her.”

Gina nodded and walked into the room.

She grabbed the clothing from the closet and dragged Golden into the shower.

She scrubbed her down and got her dressed.

“You’ll do this everyday and work from breakfast till dinner time in the restaurant. You will keep your mistakes down or you’ll be beaten until you learn not to make them. You’ll get 3 small meals from the kitchen and you will stay in your room until someone picks you up for work. Don’t do anything else!”

“I understand…”

“Good, we are late so let's go! And by the way, your name is Golden. Don’t let them hear you say anything else regarding your identity!”

Fallon followed behind Gina without another word.

The restaurant portion of the inn was crowded with locals and travelers.

Apparently this place was once the top place to enjoy a home cooked meal within the city.

Fallon soon found out that she was in Xenon and that her home, along with her pack, had been destroyed.

All survivors that pledged loyalty to Jacob were accepted into his pack and moved away.

She also found out that her family, along with herself, died that night.

She made so many mistakes that day.

By the end of the night, she dropped so many dishes and dirtied so many customers' clothing that the innkeeper had beaten her raw.

She couldn’t move as Gina cleant her bloodied back.

“How fortunate the Alpha has claimed you. I feared you would be punished like I was when I came here…”

Fallon cried as the antiseptic was rubbed into her wounds.

“I was around your age when they sold me to him. For my mistakes, he took my innocence away from me. Told me I cost him so much money so it's only right I gave him something priceless in return…”

Fallon listened as tears continued to fall.

By the time Gina cleaned and wrapped up her wounds, she knew Gina’s entire life story.

She knew she was planning on leaving with her children.

The Innkeeper was eyeing her daughter and she would not let the same things happen to her.

She had a way out of here.

She would take it.

“He expects you to be up and ready to work tomorrow. If you make any mistakes he’ll beat you again. He likes to cause pain.”

Gina wiped away Fallon's tears and headed out of the room.

She needed to make sure her children were safe, she had spent too much time with Golden.

Fallon decided for her safety she would stick to the name Golden for now.

“Goodbye Alpha Princess Fallon Marie Vault, when I’m stronger I’ll meet you again.”

Golden made sure no one was near her room before she let her wolf Nella heal her.

“You’ll be healed in no time. Remember to act like you are weak so they won’t know you have me.”

“Did the Alpha tell them about you?”

“He didn’t. And I don’t think he will, unless he wants them to take you away from him.”

“We will get out of this. I’ll find a way to escape with Gina soon.”

“Be careful, all may not be what it seems!”

2 years later …

I sat in the lock box for my third attempt at escaping.

Alpha Fraiser was beyond angry with me and wanted to return me to the innkeeper at this point.

I was purchased as a coming home gift for his son after Gina sold me out to save her children.

I couldn’t blame her.

Her child, Sandra, was only nine years old that night when Gina found the innkeeper in her room.

She knew about my wolf.

The innkeeper said I was cursed and he wouldn’t keep me around.

At that time, Alpha Friaser was traveling through town and saw me working at the inn.

He decided I was perfect for his son, but I knew he wanted me for the same reason the innkeeper wanted Gina.
