Chapter 9: The Green-Eyed Warmth
Aylin’s pov,
I curl up to the comfortable warmth surrounding me like a cocoon of affection. It was soothing after the impact of freezing water. I pulled that moving source of heat to me, trapping it in my arms. I wasn’t ready to let it away from mbe. Everything felt like a terrible nightmare when I found myself falling into a waterfall, but the warmth made me realize it had already passed and I will open my eyes in my room again.
Subtle blow of air tickling my face, I held my pillow tighter to my chest, nuzzling my face in it. An amazing smell of jungle filled my soul, but I felt suffocated when that pillow tried to hug me back. A firm, naked chest came in front of me as soon as I opened my eyes.
“Ahhhh ‘’ I screamed, getting startled by the man laying in my bed with me. Pushing him far from me, I struggled to grab a night lamp from the nearby bed table and fell on the floor with a loud bang. The lamp shattered in a blink of an eye, scaring me more.
“Guards, Guards,” I yelled, picking up the piece of broken glass in my hand to protect myself from this intruder. Holding a long, slender piece of glass in front of him, I looked up to face this uncivilized man who dared to intrude in my room.
“Don’t shout. You need rest.” He asserted calmly getting reclining over the bedpost, keeping his alluring green eyes over me. I forgot what I was doing when my eyes met his green orbs. His big, round eyes made me forget to breathe for a second.
“Good. now, come here sleep more.” He ordered in his tough voice, roaming his veined hand through his raven black hairs, making me come out of his trance of his. Shaking my head negatively, I took a few steps back from him. Unpleased, he got up from the bed swiftly as revealing his muscular chest. He was only wearing jeans. What are his intentions? What does he want?
“Don’t move,” I warned, holding a glass at him. He smirked but stopped approaching me and stood, crossing his hands over his chest.
“Guards?” I screamed again. Why are they taking so long to come here? He creased his eyebrows in confusion when I called guards.
“Who are you? What are you doing in my room? Who send you?” I bombarded him with a tone of questions, without giving him any time to think about any move further.
“I am sure it’s not your room.” He confessed, holding his chin high with a hint of a smile over his crooked lips for a second before he got cold again. I froze hearing him, but before I could ask him further, a few guards rushed in hurriedly. I got confused, as they weren’t the guards of the palace. They were wearing brown uniforms and some three leaves symbols over their vest.
The flashes of attack and screams of Tae ran across my head, dropping the temperature of my body. That sharp piece of glass dropped on the floor as I remembered myself running in the cold forest, chased by rogue vampires. The coldness of the waterfall forced me to regain my unwanted memory of getting targeted by some local Alpha.
“Prepare lunch, now.” He ordered, growling at them for a second. They left immediately as they heard of him. My eyes aren’t leaving him, his aura was terrifying but for me, it was as magnetic as the scenery of the night I was used to seeing. No doubt, he was the alpha of one pack and, more important, he was chasing me to death.
“Look, violating your territory of one, the alpha wasn’t my consent. I was trapped in a huge problem and looking for an escape.” I responded immediately, supporting myself with the wall behind me. His eyes sharpened with my direct words.
“You know I am Alpha but your tone doesn’t know it yet.” He raged but his deep voice just pulled me more to him.
“You saved me?” I asked, standing straight looking around me. It was a temporary wooden structure built like a small camp. There was only a bed and a small table was in the corner of the room.
“Yes, Sit. I have a few questions to ask.” He responded by showing his hand to bed again. Should I thank him for that? No, he was the reason I first fell into the waterfall. Why would I thank him? When I didn’t move, he approached me and slid his large, rough hand over my bare waist. The oozing heat from his hand was unfolding all layers of my soul which I didn’t even know existed and my legs started following him blindly as hypnotized.
“Why are you shirtless? Please, wear one.” I requested, turning my gaze from his built torso to the floor again. He deliberately grazed his fingers in my skin deeply as he was making me realize I was still under his territory.
“Sure, let me help you undress you then.” He casually blurted, breaking the first button of my shirt to cover my chest, startling me with his move. I held his hand in mine, stopping him from reaching further. I was so shocked to speak anything and left staring at him only with my widened eyes.
“You are wearing my shirt.” He added as he was demanding to get it back. I looked down. I was dressed in an oversized white shirt ending up in my mid-thighs. His one eyebrow arched in pride as I checked myself in his shirt.
“Do you -” I halted before completing the sentence, as the thought of him changing my clothes was so embarrassing.
“Yes, I have changed your clothes.” He accepted calmly and made me sit over the bed and took a seat beside me. I was keeping my eyes on the floor to avoid him. I have to leave soon and look for my father. He must have worried about me and the kingdom.
“Let’s get to business. I am Rowan, Alpha of Crescent pack.” He introduced himself. I knew there were eight royal packs in the kingdom but never got to know which one, as it was always kept forbidden from me. I nodded at him, as I knew everything he said, keeping my face straight.
“Who are you?” He questioned, as I didn’t take initiative to introduce myself at all.
“I am Aylin,” I answered calmly, controlling my breathing.
“Which pack? Your rank?” He voiced a lot of questions turning to me, which I wasn’t ready to answer.
“I believe you don’t need to know about that stuff.” I refused, trying to be as polite as I could. I wasn’t ready to handle another wrath of him after vampires. His face frowned.
“What does that even mean?” He asked me to get up from the bed.
“Means, thank you so much for saving my life. I need to find someone. My people are in danger. Bye.” I turned around to leave an explanation blurting out over his face. He grabbed my arm and pinned me over his chest, wrapping his both hands around me tightly.
“Tell me, what are you?” He inquired bitterly with his glaring eyes. What am I? What kind of question is this? His ragged breathing was fanning over my face, making my chocolaty locks fly in the air.
“Are you Lycan? Witch? Or hybrid?” His constant guess creeped me out. His desperate eyes were searching for something which he wanted to uncover. He was keenly observing my facial features as he was searching for some clues in it.
He circled his hand on the back of my neck, clutching a bunch of hairs in it. He bent down, smelling my neck, briefly filling my fragrance in his chest as he was going to store it for life.
“I am none of the ones you mentioned,” I answered, struggling to pull his hand away from me.
“Why couldn’t any of my warriors smell you but for me?” He asked, tracing his lips all over my cheeks, tightening his hands over my waist impossibly. I have to stop him. I have to. His touch sends electric jolts to my body, making every cell alive like a new one. As my body never felt before. He can smell me? How? It can't be possible.
“Because I am human.”

Chapter 10: Revealing Unspoken Aylin’s pov, “You are what?” Rowan asked in his deep, hoarse voice. Uncertainty was oozing through his words. Involuntarily, his hands tighten around me more and more. I knew he heard it right, so I kept my mouth shut. His eyes were so startled as he couldn’t even believe it. “Human? How is that possible? I can feel you-” He cut himself, watching me with his wavered eyes. He opened his mouth to complete his word but shut it again, loosening his tight grip over me and taking a step back from me. He stood, straightening his body, crossing his hands over his chest, taking a heavy breath. “How do you enter here?” He questioned after a long pause. Enter? Does he think I crossed the interdimensional pathway to get here? How stupid of him could be. “I am human but haven’t crossed the interdimensional barrier,” I explained, taking a seat over the bed. He didn’t move, but his gaze
Chapter 11: Painful News Aylin’s pov, Rowan nearly dragged me out with him, wrapping his chain-like hands around my waist as my waist was more of his than mine. My resistance did not affect him, but I felt as if he was enjoying it more and more. It was weird of him to treat a stranger as someone close to him. The dining area was vast and had large openings for air and sun. The wooden floor was covered with animal skin carpet below the dining table and the couch across the living room. Every decoration was natural, handmade, and eye-catching. He had a luxurious, cute cabin in the middle of the dense forest, as he wanted to be as close as nature. I could hear the chirping of the birds and the sound of the small animals running across the jungle freely enjoying their freedom, as there is no tomorrow.&nbs
Chapter 12: SufferingAylin's Pov,"Wh-at did yo-u say?" I asked, clutching his shirt furiously in my hand, hoping I had heard wrong but his silence was proving me wrong. Waylen stood there motionless, hanging his head low. My hands started shaking as my mind was processing the stab he made over my heart.“I asked, what did you say?” I demanded in my shaky firm voice pulling him towards me. Tears were already gathered in my eyes threatening me to roll down all over my face. Father can't leave me too. He can't. I know that he doesn't love me but he can't be that cruel to leave me alone in this world. He doesn't prefer to see my face but not punish me with such a barbaric method.“Father? My father can't do this to me, at least not to the Kingdom.” I denied taking steps back from him. A hand gripped over my trembling figure pulling me over a broad warm chest trapping me in the cage of the arms. Rowan was pushing me more in his
Chapter 13 Rowan’s pov, Her muffles were touring my heart, making it difficult to keep myself calm. I know she must be in a lot of pain as her father died, but her tears would not make the situation better, but they were acting like a knife over my heart. I couldn’t control my raging anger and yelled at her, hoping that she would stop her cry. The door of the bedroom burst open, entering the Waylen, who was shocked and demanded me to come out of the bedroom. I need to leave and calm myself down, otherwise, I will keep forcing her to stop making her condition worse. As her mate, every beat of her heart was falling over my ear mingled with her painful cries. I left the room as I wasn't able to see her in that broken state longing to be with her father. Waylen fol
Chapter 14: Looking For Comfort Rowan’s pov, My wolf’s word felt like a burning sword implied through my heart, as he uncovered the truth over me. She never said something like this nor talked candidly, accepting me as her mate. ‘I know it’s hard to accept it, but that’s what the moon goddess blessed us with.’ My wolf tried to console me. It was a shock for me, as she would never experience what I feel about her ever. The mate bond which every creature envies our kind for this blessing with. But she couldn’t sense me and my feelings. If I tell her, I am her fated mate. I can bet she will refuse to accept. ‘But we both are bound to stay beside her, protect her, cherish her. She is our princess.’ He reminded me, making me wonder about his subtle side which I was never able to see as her presence burst a
Chapter 15: Evaluating The Sooth. Aylin’s pov, A thumping sound of something pulled me out from my sweet sleep. Opening my eyelids with great difficulty, I realized I was trapped between the strong cage of Rowan’s arms, reclining over his sturdy strong chest. It was still early as the sky was painted red and a group of birds were presenting their music to this beautiful nature. I inhaled deeply, the smell of morning dew drops entered my lungs, intoxicating me. But why am I sleeping outside? Maybe exhaustion made me sleep here, but why was he still sleeping with me in front of the cabin? Isn’t his alpha attitude going to get wounded by sleeping in the open like this? I tried to get up, but he only tightened h
Chapter 16: Demands and RefusalsAylin’s pov,Rowan choked over his bite as soon as I mentioned my upcoming departure. Surprised, Waylen pushed a glass full of water to vigorously coughing Rowan. He looked up, grasping air to breathe while glaring at him. Waylen retreated the glass immediately and drank himself.“But Lin, you just came. Why you need to leave this early? You haven’t even visited Avarland nor crescent pack.” Orson asked with his concern filled voice. He really looked worried, increasing the guilt inside me, watching his excitement to give a tour of these places.“Maybe it’s early, but I still have to return, right? To my people. I can’t just let rogue take control over everything and beside if the news of King’s death has already spread across the kingdom, it will be very problematic to handle them and rest of the alphas.”
Chapter 17: Unleashing The Hidden TruthAylin’s pov,I was silent, processing his words. If Vampire King is coming here, then it will be easier to deal with the complications of the condition.“How many days does he need to get here?” I knew his kingdom was far, but I didn’t want to wait a second to meet him.“At least two weeks.” I narrowed my eyes on him. His forehead was creased with concern of the unknown.“I can’t wait that long.” Pushing him from me, I turned my back to him.“I haven’t said you are going to meet him.” He jerked me, trapping me in his arms as I took a s
