Third Person's POV
Thaddeus saw Aiden's shocked expression, which told the Alpha that the Omega didn't know they were mates.
‘How did he not know?’ Sure, it was the first time he felt the tingles from the bond, but couldn't he smell me? Couldn't he smell that I am his mate? Doesn't he feel the pull of the bond? Didn't his wolf tell him that I'm his mate? He had to have spoken the word at least once! The Alpha wondered, his thoughts racing.
The Alpha had so many questions, so many things he wanted to ask his mate. Before the Alpha could open his mouth to ask the questions at the tip of his tongue, there was a knock at the door.
Xander didn't wait for a reply. The Beta cracked the door open and popped his head in.
“Hey, they're here,” Xander said, and then his face lit up when he saw his Luna was awake.
Xander pushed the door open and entered the room with a smile beaming on his face.
“Hey, kid! It's good to see you're finally awake!” The Beta said, and Aiden scowled at his words, which surprised Thaddeus.
‘I guess he didn't like to be called a kid,’’ Thaddeus thought and held back a laugh.
Aiden's body tensed when he realized the look he had just given the Beta, and then he quickly averted his eyes to his lap. He hoped that if they could see he was obedient, they wouldn't get mad at his disrespect and spare him a beating.
Xander's smile faded when he saw Aiden's reaction and smelled his fear.
Thaddeus didn't want to leave, especially seeing how scared Aiden was. He wanted to stay and comfort him, but people were waiting in his office.
“I have a meeting I have to attend. I'll be back in a little while. I'll have someone bring you something to eat.” The Alpha said as he grabbed his legs and moved them, moving his body to the edge of the bed. The Alpha lowered himself into the wheelchair and then strapped his legs in.
Thaddeus looked up, and his heart beat faster when he saw those sparkling blue eyes looking at him, and then frowned when he quickly looked away.
….
Xander walked with Thaddeus to the elevator and waited until they were inside.
“So… He's awake,” Xander said awkwardly. He was hoping Thaddeus would just start talking, But it looks like he will have to pull it from the Alpha.
“Yeah,” Thaddeus replied, and Xander almost rolled his eyes.
“Well, come on, spit it out! How is he? How did he react? Tell me something! You can't just leave me hanging like this!” Xander practically stomped his feet, and the Alpha raised an eyebrow at his Beta's childlike behavior.
The Alpha exhaled as he shook his head, “He's okay. He said he was not in any pain, which I'm relieved… He hasn't rejected me, at least not yet. But he didn't seem to know I was his mate. He had no idea what the tingles were when we touched.”
“Didn't his wolf tell him? Couldn't he smell you?” Xander was surprised his Luna didn't know Thaddeus was his mate. He's never heard of a werewolf not knowing about the mate bond.
“That's what I thought, too! He should have been able to identify me as his mate just by the smell! And even if he didn't know what he was smelling, his wolf should know! He should have at least uttered the word in his head once!” Thaddeus said as he ran his hand through his hair.
“Well, how did he react after you told him you were his mate?”
“He seemed shocked. I don't know how he feels about it. You kind of came at the wrong time.”
“Oh, sorry!” Xander grimist and looked down.
“It's okay. I need to talk to Michael and figure out what's going on.”
“What about the wheelchair? How did he react to that?” Xander asked as he pointed at Thaddeus's wheelchair.
The Alpha let out a breath as he shrugged his shoulders.
“I don't know. I don't know how he feels about it. He stared at my legs for quite a while when he finally realized I was in a wheelchair. When he first woke up, I don't think he noticed. He started to have a panic attack, and I climbed onto the bed to try and calm him down, and that's when he noticed my legs. His whole demeanor changed.
He went from completely freaked out to calm just like that!” Thaddeus said and snapped his fingers.
“Well, maybe it was a good thing. Maybe he realized you weren't a threat. Did It look like he was bothered by the fact you're in a wheelchair?”
“I don't know. I mean, at first, I thought he was. But I don't know. He didn't look angry or disgusted.”
“Well, maybe he was just shocked. Maybe he was staring at your legs because he was curious. I mean, it's not very often you see an Alpha in a wheelchair!” Xander tried to put his Alpha at ease. He could see how stressed he was about this and knew how scared his Alpha was of the same thing happening again.
“Maybe you're right,”
Xander smiled when he saw his Alpha relax.
“So, what's his name?” Xander asked, both curious to know what his Luna's name was, and he wanted to see the look of love on his Alpha's face when he said his name.
“Aiden… his name is Aiden,” Thaddeus smiled as he thought of Aiden's beautiful sparkling blue eyes. He felt his stomach flutter just saying his name. The way it rolled off his tongue felt amazing. He never knew that just saying a name could have that effect on someone.
Xander's squeal startled Thaddeus, and he jumped. His eyes snapped to his Beta, trying to figure out what in the hell was wrong with him.
It didn't take Thaddeus long to figure out what his Beta was excited about. He looked like an excited teenage girl. His hands were fisted excitedly in front of his chest, and he was practically bouncing with a goofy grin plastered on his face.
“Oh, you're so in love!” Xander gushed and then yelped as he was shoved out of the elevator.
“You're ridiculous!” The Alpha grumbled as he wheeled himself out of the elevator.
“And you're in love!” Xander called out to his Alpha, who tried to wheel himself away as fast as possible. Xander laughed as he ran after his Alpha.
Thaddeus took a sharp breath in when his Beta grabbed his wheelchair and popped a wheelie before he took off running, pushing the Alpha as fast as he could.
“Xander, damn it! I'm going to kick your ass!” The Alpha threatened as he reached back, trying to grab his Beta.
Xander laughed as he slowed the wheelchair while leaning back, keeping himself just out of reach.
Silly Beta!
Third Person's POV Grace is an older lady in her 80s, but you would never know. Grace looks more like she's in her late thirties thanks to werewolf genes and the fact that they live much longer than humans. Grace is the head cook in the pack house kitchen. Before she became the head cook, she was Thaddeus's nanny and helped raise him. Grace is like a mother to Thaddeus. She is a kind and sweet lady with a motherly aura and a smile that makes you feel at home. The Alpha thought she was the perfect person to take Aiden something to eat. Anyone else may end up scaring him. But Grace will warm her way into his heart within seconds. …. When the Alpha left and closed the door, Aiden stared at it. The Omega was confused. He didn't know what to think. When the man said he was an Alpha, Aiden thought for sure he had just found himself in the same situation he just escaped from. He was terrified. He kept waiting for the Alpha to hit him or grab him by the hair and drag him down the sta
Third Person's POV The meeting with Alpha Michael only left Thaddeus with more questions. Michael believes the people watching his territory are scouts. But from where and why? The scouts weren't just watching River Pack from outside its territory. They have been caught deep within Michael's territory several times this past week. However, it seems their main focus is on the southeast corner, where Michael's territory connects to Thaddeus’s near the river. The same place Aiden was found. Could they be looking for him? If so, are these the same people who hurt him? The Alpha is exhausted by the time he finally makes it back to his bedroom. Thaddeus was disappointed he's returning so late, and didn't get to say good night to his mate. Thaddeus enters his bedroom as quietly as he can. He approaches the bed and smiles at what he sees. Aiden is sound asleep, cuddling his pillow. The sheets are wrapped around him, tangled around his legs, with his foot sticking out. It's an adorable
Third Person's POV Aiden slowly opened the door and then peeked out. His eyes scanned the room. When he didn't see the Alpha, Aiden slowly stepped into the room. The Omega spots a stack of clothes neatly folded at the end of the bed. He brings the shirt to his nose and smiles when it smells like the Alpha. Aiden eagerly pulled the Alpha’s clothes on but frowned when he realized how large the sweatpants were. It seems no matter how tight he pulled the string, they still wanted to slide right off his hips. The shirt was just like the others. It hung to his knees, but he didn't mind. At least if his pants fell down, the shirt would cover his ass. Aiden was happy with how he looked. Even though the clothes were too big, they were better than anything he'd ever owned. Aiden looked around the room again, looking for the Alpha. He listened for a moment but couldn't hear anything. Aiden slowly walked to the closet and peeked in. He frowned when he didn't see the Alpha. The Omega turned,
Third Person's POV Thaddeus pushed all the plates aside after they were done eating. He was hoping to finally get some answers and find out who did this to him. The Alpha looked at Aiden, who looked content as he leaned back in his chair and licked his lips. His hands rested on his stomach as he let out a little hum. Thaddeus fought the urge to scoop his mate into his arms and squeeze him. ‘He was just too adorable!’ The Alpha thought. “Aiden, can you tell me who did this to you?” The Omega instantly tensed and nervously looked down at his lap as he began playing with his fingers. Thaddeus hated that someone hurt the Omega and made him afraid to talk to his own mate. “I know you are afraid to talk to me. I know you don't know me, but I promise I will never hurt you! You're my mate, sweetheart. I would never hurt you! I care about you… I need to know what happened. I need to know who did this to you. When I said I won't let anyone hurt you again, I meant it. You don't have t
Thaddeus POV I made my way to the training field and found Marcus yelling at two warriors, and correcting their stances. As Third in Command, this means Marcus is my Lead Warrior. We have over 1,500 pack members, and approximately 1,100 of those members are actually able to train and fight. That's obviously way too many people for one person to train and look after. Therefore, there are approximately 22 Team Leaders, each responsible for 50 warriors. Those 22 Team Leaders are under Marcus and report to him. Marcus is their leader, and the leader of all warriors, especially when it comes to battle. As I approached the field Marcus turned my way and instantly spotted me. A smile spreads across his face, but I can see the moment he senses my mood. His smile instantly disappears and he turns back to the other Leaders and barks off orders, before turning and approaching me. "Hey, what's going on?" Marcus asks, looking at me concerned as he sat down on the bench in front of me. I cam
Thaddeus POV Aiden was asleep when I entered the room, so I quietly went into the bathroom and took a shower. After I was done I came out to find he was still asleep. I went around the bed, to the side Aiden was laying so I could look at him. I couldn't believe how adorable he looked. He was laying on his stomach with the sheets tangled around his body again. His face was near the edge, facing me as I came closer. He looks so peaceful, so beautiful! I reached my hand up, and lightly brushed the hair away from his face, before trailing my fingers down the side of his cheek and gently cupping it. My thumb lightly stroked his cheek as his eyes fluttered open. Those beautiful blue eyes landed on mine and I swore my heart skipped a beat, maybe several! He held my gaze for a moment as I lightly stroked his cheek. I was surprised but thankful he didn't seem frightened. He actually seemed calm as he laid there looking at me, allowing me to touch his face. I felt a warmth spread through my
Aiden's POV I'm not sure what happened, but suddenly Thaddeus seemed angry. I was shocked when he actually yelled at me, I flinched back and then wrapped my arms around myself. I felt my eyes sting as tears threatened to fill them, I don't understand what I did wrong, I was so confused. I wasn't expecting to see him shift right here in the dining room. I was shocked when he suddenly leaned forward and shifted to his wolf right in front of me. I don't know what shocked me more, the fact that his wolf was using all four legs, or how massive he was. I have never seen a wolf so big before, not even my old Alpha's wolf was this big. I also couldn't believe how beautiful he was. He was so black, so shiny, and his fur looked so soft and so perfect. As he ran through the door, I thought for certain he was going to tear it apart. I didn't think he would fit, his sides scraped the door frame as he ran through it. 'They really should consider widening that door!' I thought, as I stared at th
Aiden's POV I held her for a few moments until she stopped crying. Just then an angry Xander came bursting through the front door and came to a halt on the porch. He looked at me before looking at her and his body instantly stiffened. I could see his jaw clench, and his body almost seemed to tremble as he looked at her. She looked over my shoulder at Xander, and I felt her body stiffen. She stared at him for a moment then shook her head as if she was shaking something off. I looked back at her as she pulled away further. "Who are you?... Why do I feel like I know you?" I asked while pulling my shirt off and handing it to her since she was naked. She looked at me strangely while slipping the shirt on. "You don't remember me?" she asked, and I slowly shook my head "No." I said. "It's me, Abigail… I'm your sister!" she said. Sister? I thought to myself. I was taken in by the Alpha of the Blood Moon Pack when I was 6 years old. I actually don't have any memory of my family or
