Meeting each other

Brandon held a glass of wine as he stood at the balcony. He was thinking about the marriage stuff and all.

"Sir, your phone is ringing" The guard ran in.

"Who's calling?" He asked without looking at the guard.

"Your girlfriend, sir" The guard replied.

"Tell her I left the phone at home, that she should try my other lines" He ordered.

"Okay sir" The guard did as Brandon had said.

"Get me one of my phones, I want to call dad" Brandon said and the guard nodded before leaving.

Few minutes later, the guard returned with the phone and he handed it over to Brandon. Brandon signalled the guard to leave and he did. He called his dad and he picked at the second ring.

"Have you decided?" Mr Emerson asked.

"What's at stake" Brandon replied him with a question.

"Like I have said earlier. Are you in or out?" He asked and Brandon sighed before replying.

"Like I have a choice. When is the wedding?" Brandon asked.

"Earlier ago I was forcing you to get married to her but now it seems that you are the one in a haste" Mr Emerson replied, laughing.

"You don't want me to change my mind, do you?" Brandon angrily said.

"The date hasn't been fixed because you too haven't gotten engaged....my secretary is going to send you a text, read it and get ready" Mr Emerson said.

"Ready for what?" Brandon asked in confusion.

"Read and understand! I have a board meeting in thirty minutes, I have to get ready..... Goodbye!" Mr Emerson rushed his words and disconnected the call.

The message was sent to Brandon and he read it and gasped.

"What! We have to go on a date and act like we are in love?" He angrily yelled

"A meeting with her and her family tomorrow?" He again yelled and angrily smacked the phone on the floor.

******

Beatrice sat on her bed sobbing when her mother walked in.

"I brought your dress" Mrs Helen said as she gently dropped it on the bed.

"You should get ready before the guests arrive" She concluded and left the room.

Beatrice didn't say anything, she just sat there sobbing. The thought of destroying the gown crossed her mind. She was about destroying it when someone held her hands.

"Why barge into my room? Can't you knock?" Beatrice asked Tina in a harsh way.

You should at least shut your door! Why knocking when the door is wide open...all I need to go is to walk in" Tina retorted.

"Anyways. I am not here to exchange words with you but am here to advise you" Tina said and Beatrice scoffed.

"My younger sister wants to advise me" Beatrice laughed.

"Go ahead!"

"You are so lucky you are getting married to Brandon Emerson because it's every ladies dream...you should grab the opportunity! I want to be known as Brandon's sister in-law" Tina advised.

"Including you? You should get married to him then! You all are saying I am lucky, isn't he lucky? He's gonna get married to Beatrice Alexander" Beatrice yelled and Tina chuckled.

"Beatrice Alexander? It's not like you are famous or something" Tina rolled her eyes.

"Are you here to insult me?" Beatrice asked.

"No, I am here to advice you.... If things don't work out, then make it work out for you. All I am tryi......"

"Keep your stupid advice to yourself" Beatrice cuts her off.

"You are the worst sister ever" Tina said.

"Yes! Now get out and shut the door behind you" Beatrice yelled and Tina angrily walked out.

Beatrice glanced at the window and she saw three strange cars parked at the garage.

"The guest must have arrived" she sadly muttered.

"Tina had said that if things don't work out, then one should make it work for them! How about I make this marriage work out for me?.........I think I have a plan!" She thought and smiled mischievously.

"Why worrying about this marriage When I can actually have a divorce after the wedding" she thought and wore the gown. She applied some makeup and wore nice heels. She smiled at herself on the mirror.

"Good to go!"

*

"Where  she?" Mr Emerson impatiently asked.

"Am sure she would be here any seconds" Mrs Helen assured.

"I am here" Beatrice said, she was climbing down the stairs.

"Wow" Brandon stared at her, lustfully.

"She's beautiful, right?" Mr Emerson said and Brandon quickly averted his gaze from her.

"No! The gown looks beautiful, so I was thinking of getting one for Mia" He lied and Mr Emerson chuckled.

"And since when do you care about what your sister wears?" Mr Emerson asked, he was now staring at Brandon.

"I...I...the gown looks nice and there's no offense buying one for Mia" He stuttered.

"Father in-law, bonjour" Beatrice greeted and he smiled.

"Father in-law? is she that desperate?" Brandon asked himself but Beatrice heard him.

"Sooner or later, he's going to become my father in-law! So why the worries" Beatrice whispered on his ear, making it look as if she was kissing his cheeks.

"Can we have some time alone?" Brandon asked and they all smiled.

"Sure, I can see you two are getting along" Mr Alexander said, smiling and they all left.

"Surely, you must have a plan for sending them away" Beatrice said and he smiled.

"Wow! Seems like you know me very well" Brandon replied.

"Say what ever you want and stop wasting my time" Beatrice said. She's was a girl who works with time.

"How about I write you a check of a huge amount of money, then you tell my dad you ain't interested in the marriage?" He said and she laughed.

"Money? You think money is what I want? Well, in case you don't know, I am happy with the plan and all...I want to be your wife!" Beatrice said and he glared at her in surprise.

"I see why you are so desperate" he said, angrily.
