Wardrobe Change

“Oh I better text him the address, I think it’s almost time for our date. Or not, he didn’t exactly tell me any time.” She said in a reluctant tone of voice, she felt like she was being forced into what she was doing even though she agreed with full consent.

Almost ten minutes had since passed when he gave him the address to their house, he was riding through a rough and unpaved road with his sports car. It's not a car that’s usually built for roads like that. When he was on his way, he thought that the address she gave him was a fake one since he wasn’t expecting Annika to be living in what looked like to him, a dump.

“This is where she lives? Oh my… I just hope that she's already ready.” He thought to himself as she honked his horn in front of the house she said she lived in.

The moment Kurt saw her house, he felt a little pitiful to her. The house couldn’t even be locked even if the owners wanted because of how their door was designed. It just looked like a wrecked and abandoned home, she just looked like she moved in and renovated the place a little.

The moment he saw her come out, he could still see her beauty. But all he could focus on was the house and the dress she was wearing. While he was wearing the most expensive and classiest tuxedo money could buy at the time, she looked like someone from a fairytale, with her captivating beauty and an awful dress to match it.

When she finally went inside the car, he immediately looked at her and the dress she was wearing. “I almost forgot to tell you earlier, when you meet her, my mom. I want you to refrain from telling her about everything at the moment, your status, where you live. Everything, and you most certainly cannot tell her about our fake relationship or it would really defeat the entire purpose of deceiving her tonight yeah?” He said in an enthusiastic tone of voice.

Before they went out, Annika suddenly uttered something out of nowhere. “Hmm… June 4, 1994…” She said in an enthusiastic tone of voice.

This surprised Kurt a little. “You remember huh? Thanks.” He said to her with a smile on his face.

This made him much more affectionate towards her, since the little things can really affect Kurt’s feelings about someone, especially when they know that what they’re doing is special and near to him.

“So… Like I told you earlier, we cannot have any setbacks happening tonight because this is the part where she would either accept you as a whole and into the family, securing our spot as a couple in her eyes, thus finally stop bothering me about getting a girlfriend or this is the night where she would reject you and just stop me from seeing you ever again in the near future.” He said in a  serious tone of voice as he was driving out of there.

This made Annika chuckle a little. “No, like I told you as well, she won’t reject me because I am confident that nothing bad will happen between the two of us.” She answered.

“I know you're confident, but I’m not too confident about…” Before Kurt could finish what he was saying, Annika almost immediately cut him off.

“I know what you’re going to say.” She said in a frustrated tone of voice as she pointed her finger at him. “You’re going to say my dress isn’t enough, but this is the only thing I thought that best suited what I needed tonight.” She said in a serious tone of voice.

“Sorry, but I’m right, you cannot go wearing that. Which is why I came prepared, I already have a shop nearby that’s ready to give you the dress for the right occasion.” He said to her with enthusiasm in his voice.

“Okay, if that’s what you really want then fine.” She replied.

This made Kurt more relaxed than earlier since he knew that he would be much more calm when he knew that Annkika would be wearing the best dress money can buy.

“Oh and umm… Can you just drop me off in town? I think I would just rather shop by myself thank you.” Annika asked in a serious tone of voice.

Kurt chuckled and smiled at her. “Fine, I’ll drive you there and I’ll just drop you off, I’ll come back for you in half an hour I guess. I’m sure that’s plenty of time for them to find the perfect dress for you.” Kurt said to Annika.

The moment they arrived in town, they got out of the car as soon as she could since she still had to find the store she was supposed to go to.

As Annika was walking out of there, she came across a store full of the most expensive dresses in town. The entrance of the store looked out of this world, it was full of lights and decor from all over the world to make sure that it stood out more than any other store in town.

As she came across that store, a thought suddenly came across her mind. “Wait, he said get my best dress? But, I don’t have any money at the moment other than the huge tip he gave me back at the bar, And from what I remember. I never exactly kept dresses back home since I barely used them so I would just rent out dresses whenever I needed them. I can’t exactly use the money he gave me to buy a dress since I’m going to give this to the lawyer for my sister’s case. Nope this isn’t going to work, but how am I going to get a dress without me having to buy a new one.” She thought to herself as she put her hand on her cheek as she thought about every single thing she could do.

After a couple of seconds later, she still had not thought of something. Then, that’s when it hit her. She snapped her fingers and looked like she had a eureka moment, Annika suddenly felt energetic and confident. She pulled up her phone and immediately dialed Kurt’s number again. She waited for it to ring for a couple of seconds, it looked like no one was answering. She called again, but it just kept on ringing and ringing.

That’s when she thought that she had it, she didn’t call his number again and felt like she had no other choice but to use the money that Kurt gave her as a tip back at the bar. “You're seriously not answering now? I should’ve told you earlier that I don’t want to spend any money at the moment! Ugh, why does this keep happening to me? Everytime I think of a good plan or even a good idea, something or someone almost always comes and ruins her plans.

She then stormed off to the nearest bench to sit down and think about what she would do next. She was trying her best to make sure that she didn't spend the tip money so that she would have enough to pay the lawyer’s fee.

Annika then sat on the bench, looking all flustered, she pulled up her phone again and dialed Kurt’s number for the fifth time. Just like earlier, it kept on ringing and ringing with no one else answering on the other side. “Great, he’s still not answering, what am I supposed to do right now? I don’t want to spend the tip money, I need it for the lawyer’s fee.” She thought to herself, as she was about to give up and just spend the money she had been trying to not cut, her phone suddenly rang.

She wasn’t expecting anyone to call her at all, this startled her and almost made her drop phone. If she lost it, then she would have no other way to contact Kurt. “Now, look who’s calling back, fine I’ll answer it.” She thought to herself as she finally answered the call.

“Hello? Annika? Why were you calling? Sorry I couldn’t answer the phone earlier, I was in a meeting. Do you need something?” He asked in an enthusiastic tone of voice as she chuckled.

Annika just let out a deep sigh and answered. “You know what? I’m not even going to complain about how I’ve been calling you for so many times and you not answering because you clearly had something important going on, and yes. I do need something, I forgot to tell you earlier that I don’t have any good dresses back at home because I only rent dresses for occasions, so if you want me to wear something nice tonight then you’ll have to buy me a new one, or at least lend me one if you even have one…” She said with confidence in her voice as she felt like she was on top of the world while she was demanding for her needs.

Kurt chuckled and didn’t answer for a couple of seconds. He felt a little overwhelmed by everything she said, but nevertheless he knew what she needed. “Okay, don’t worry you should’ve just told me earlier, I mean I did say that I would buy you a new dress but you kept insisting that you go alone.” He said in an enthusiastic tone of voice.

“Sorry, I just forgot that I don’t wanna spend a penny at the moment, so… You’re coming back? I’m already at a dress shop, I think it’s called Amour? Have you heard about it?” She asked.

“That’s one of the most expensive shops in town, even though it’s expensive their dresses aren’t really all that good for my standards. But if you're already near there, and I guess that’s where we’ll have to get your dress from, I hope mom doesn’t recognize their work…” He reluctantly said as he finally hung up.

Annika stood up with a smile on her face, she was able to get a free dress, courtesy of Kurt. But she was most thrilled about the tip money he gave her since she didn’t have to spend a single penny of it to get a dress for their date.
