CHAPTER TWO

(Third Person POV)

"WHY left the hotel's room, Prince Killian? Where's Mr. Smith?" While wiping the blood in his hands with wet tissue, Venom asked the prince.

He was informed that his subject is a multi-lengua so he was as sure as hell the royal blood could understand simple questionings.

The prince combed his long damp hair with his fingers and shifted on his seat. Venom darted his eyes on him and he found traces of discomfort on his face.

The prince is a werewolf but with his thin frame, it's easy to tell what's troubling him.

"What? You're cold?" Venom sarcastically rasped before he threw the trash in his hand out of the window, reached for the coat at the back of his car, and roughly tossed it to the prince. "Royals!" He shook his head, turned the engine of the vehicle to life, and drove off.

On the flip side, Prince Killian calmly breathed the scent of the coat and covered the upper part of his body. He then leaned back and pinned his gaze to Venom. "I heard wolves of the east continent are blessed with extraordinary vitality. I never knew the rumors are real."

Focusing his watch on the road, Venom sniggered. His subject might have been talking about how he handily sent the assassins to the gate of hell but he's not swayed with the highness's praises even a bit. "I am not asking for shitty compliments. I am asking where the hell is your attendant, Prince Killian?"

The prince's left eyebrow rose as he peered at the cranky fella in the driver seat with fondness. "The elders always told me not to trust strangers. Perhaps a good rationale is sufficient to acknowledge all your concerns, sire."

Venom grunted under his jagged breath. He quickly nailed the prince with an annoyed glance before he drifted his eyes back to the road. "I am Venom Forcas; second in command of Blood Moon pack and I am your appointed bodyguard."

"Hmm," the prince hummed. The fondness turned to interest as his stares lingered to Venom's hostile countenance. "Surprisingly, Mr.Smith did his job well this time," a smile slowly formed on his lips, and shortly, he answered his so-called bodyguard's questions. "My attendant suddenly disappeared after he assisted me in my room. I went out to check on him but the rain mesmerized me."

"Fuck the rain!" Venom spat in a clear pissed voice. "Do you know what will happen if those filthy scraps accomplish their mission in killing you, your highness? Do you know what your death means!"

The prince's lips twitched. He smoothly chuckled and replied, "Peace?"

Venom ground his teeth and corrected him. "War! If your blood spill in our land, it will instigate war!"

"Is that so?" the prince smirked and slowly leaned forward until he's a hairsbreadth from the grumpy second in command. "Want to make a bet with me then?" he whispered.

His hot breath tickled and surprised Venom who instantly slammed his foot to the brake of the car. The vehicle turned to a halt which sent the coat covering the prince to the dashboard before it knocked over to his lap.

"What the hell!" Venom grumbled like a mad bull and clutched Prince Killian's shirt. "Don't do that shit again!" A clear warning flashed in his eyes but his royal highness expressed no fear as he tended his head to the side and granted him a soft but meaningful smile.

"Alright. I won't do it again," Prince Killian relinquished and hastily, Venom released him.

"Damn it! You are annoying!" The beta went on driving while cursing at him.

The prince shrugged his shoulder and tugged the coat back to his upper body. He turned to silence but his unreadable gapes never left his bodyguard.

KILLIAN didn't notice that he fell asleep. He only realized it when he felt something stop from moving which gradually woke him up.

As his lids snapped open, he learned that he was still inside the car with the Beta of Blood Moon who had his hands on the steering wheel but not driving anymore.

"What is wrong?" Killian asked in a weary voice. He yawned and adjusted in his seat.

Venom breathed sharply and turned to him. "Do you have your wallet with you?'

Killian modestly chortled and joked, "Is this a robbery?"

His bodyguard huffed and irritatedly voiced out the problem, "We run out of gas and I left my wallet at the packhouse."

"I don't have a wallet but I have money," Killian murmured. He closed his eyes, verged to the side of the car, and continued talking. "It's in my pocket but I'm lazy to get it."

Venom frowned. "What the-" the beta did not finish his words and leaned over to the prince to fish the money out of his soaked trousers. His left hand went under the coat and was about to reach for Killian's pocket when the prince chuckled and gently pushed him off.

"If someone sees us, it would look like you're jumping on me, sir bodyguard," Killian teased and voluntarily pulled the money out of his pocket to give it to Venom.

"Damn it!" Venom grumbled and with a serious expression, he snatched the bills from the prince and clarified things. "I am straight and I am not into man, your highness!"

Killian simply hummed and stared at Venom once again with his ominous eyes. The beta chose to ignore him that time for they had no time to waste. He must bring the prince to a safe place before another assassin chases his ass again.

Venom drove to the nearest gasoline station for the gas and afterward, he pulled in front of a shop. "Stay here. I'll buy something to eat." He opened the door to his side and moved out.

Killian followed him with his bewildered gaze and as soon as the appointed bodyguard stepped inside the store, a faint wicked smile appeared on his lips. "Interesting."
