Chapter 2: Are you shameless now?

"What an ungrateful Omega! Do you know what did you have just said? If it wasn't for this pack that gave you and your mother a place to live, your mother and you would have been torn apart by wild wolves! What do you think two weak Omegas like you two could do on the outside?"

Brenna Brown fired back. Her voice sounded irritated.

She had never liked Giselles. Twenty years ago, when Brenna had seen Giselle's mother for the first time, she hated herself for not being able to tear Giselle’s mother apart or remove her from the pack.

Giselle’s mom even dared to seduce her husband! And that filthy woman even gave birth to Giselle! If it wasn't for that Giselle girl, Brenna would have had two children then, not just one!

Giselle, of course, clearly felt Brenna’s malice towards her. Yet, she did not pay any attention to Brenna. Giselle did not think it was worth it. She looked directly at Edsel, the old bastard sitting in the back of his desk. His eyes glowed in bright red color. He eyed Giselle like she was his prey. He looked at Giselle while his head was full of all kinds of plotting of what he could do to torture her into obeying his orders.

What is he trying to do?

"If that Marcus guy is so important to this pack if this marriage is so important, why not let your biological daughter go and get married instead of me?" Giselle said, pointing directly at Tina. Tina Brown heard Giselle mention her, she was a little bit startled, definitely taken back.

"Don't drag me into this!" Tina scoffed. She should have stopped right there, but the stupid, impulsive girl chose to continue. "I would never marry a wolf who never stepped up to the Alpha throne of the pack! My lover will-"

"Tina!"

Edsel shouted. His roar caused Tina to shoot. She trembled, nestled tightly in the chair, and immediately closed her mouth.

Giselle had heard enough.

Tina said she would not marry someone who couldn’t be the Alpha.

Tina said she had a lover?

If so...

"It's not me, is it?" Giselle asked.

She could pretty much guess.

To think of it all over again, it did not feel right.

Edsel and Brenna were both in favor of fame. If the marriage between two packs of wolves can benefit them, these two people were not going to ignore it. Not to mention, the bond between the two packs would cause the power to increase significantly.

In this city, according to Giselle’s knowledge, there was a pack of wolves that was believed to be the strongest: the Bailey's. Brownson is only middle-class. Being friendly with such a big side, Edsel and Brenna surely could not ignore it.

So why not Tina, their daughter, get married, but her?

And yet, Tina even accidentally said that ‘a wolf that cannot be the Alpha of the pack’ could it mean this Marcus guy might not become the Alpha of his pack? But due to his background being so high class, Edsel and Brenna couldn’t ignore it. So the only way was to force her to get married on Tina's behalf?

If she got married to Marcus instead of Tina, Marcus’s pack couldn’t say anything like Edsel had betrayed his words. Giselle was the Alpha’s daughter. This was a perfect way to solve the problem without making Marcus’s pack furious. Not only that, but they also retained Tina, waiting for another greater benefit to come.

This quirky couple...

"It's you." Edsel Brown said, "They say ‘Alpha's daughter’. They didn't name anyone in specific. I have two daughters and choosing which one is my business."

"You're crazy." Giselle laughed dryly, turning her back to leave this crazy place when Edsel called back to her:

"You're a member of the pack, too, and as long as you're in this pack, you're submissive to your Alpha! You do as I told you to!"

Suddenly, Giselle felt a heavyweight put on her shoulders, pressing her down, causing her to almost fell on her knees. Almost!

She turned and saw that Edsel had shown his fangs at her. His eyes were glowing bright red.

She gulped. Her inner wolf was jumping scared. Her inner wolf just wanted to run away. It screamed in her head, telling her to run away from Edsel. Yet, all Giselle could do was fixed at her ground.

“Know your place, Omega.”

Edsel's voice deepened, laced with danger as he let out a huff.

He continued: “My words weren’t a question. It’s an order. You must obey my order as long as you wanted to stay in this pack.”

Giselle gritted her teeth, already showing her fangs at her father: "I rather not!"

With that said, Giselle quickly stormed off Edsel’s office. She missed out on his devilish smirk.

Tery was right outside. He stopped Giselle at her track the moment she stepped out of Edsel’s office. Tery emitted a frightful growl, showing his fangs at Giselle. That man was ready to fight for his Alpha.

However, Edsel spoke up again: “Let her go!”

Tery wouldn’t question Edsel’s order. He immediately stood back.

Giselle took her chance, quickly ran off from here. Her mom’s scent on Tery frightened her. She wanted to see her mom. She wanted to make sure her mom was alright.

Tina Brown and her mom Brenna Brown saw Giselle runoff, those two quickly got up in anger.

Tina was frustrated. She yelled out loud: “Dad, why did you let her go? Why don’t you force her into this? I’m not gonna married that guy! He will never be the Alpha of Bailey’s pack! I…”

“Shut up!” Edsel had had enough. He was also frustrated. He was angry, too. That Giselle girl dared to ignore his order. She talked back! She challenged his wolf! That pup!

However, no matter how angry he was, Edsel knew for the best that he couldn’t be reckless. He must wait. That Giselle girl would come back to do as he said!

She would!
