Chapter 12: Selene
It has been three days and I was helping some of the servants with the preparations. We didn’t have two weeks, this circle has to happen soon. Five weeks. Five weeks since I became a mother. Mara was destroyed but Selene was in critical condition. Everyone had warned her that the spell was too dangerous, but she was determined to win the war, even if it meant risking her life to save ours. Amber said that out of over two thousand soldiers, only three hundred were injured or killed. I was upset that we lost any, but I was happy that we were able to save so many more. After the spell was cast, Selene plummeted to the ground; I managed to catch her before she hit, but she was unconscious and barely breathing.
