CHAPTER 5: OPENED GATES

Since this flyer followed her here maybe it was for a reason, she reasoned with herself as she sat back on the bed.

“Since you followed me all the way here, I will ready you and see what is so important that you stuck onto me like a leech,” she said to herself as she looked intently at the flyer.

She began to concentrate as she read the flyer and what she saw made her laugh with so much sarcasm, she wanted to kill somebody.

“Have you ever wondered why you are so different? Why everyone looks at you as if you don’t belong? Don’t fret the chosen one, you were born for greatness and this is your time to shine. Click onto this web and take this chance to change your fate and destiny! You only have twenty-four hours………contact @ *********”

This was simply BS and Juanita wasn’t buying it anymore. On this day, she had gone through so much she felt as if the heavens were mocking her and everyone was laughing at her.

She didn’t want another person to laugh at her too and this flyer that had been sticking onto her for hours was just driving her crazy. She stood up and this time she threw it into the bin and decided to do some work and forget about everything.

Since she wasn’t feeling sleepy as she had slept already, she decided to clean up her house and keep herself busy. Juanita did exactly that for two hours and the house was clean and sparkling.

She even soaked her dirty clothes into a tub and left them while she takes a rest but before she could sit properly, her eyes darted to the bin where she threw that flyer.

“Ahh, what am I thinking about?”

She decided to harden her heart but her heart was now racing like crazy and she knew that ignoring this will only make her regret it for the rest of her life.

“Fine, it doesn’t matter whether I am getting pranked or what, since a chance is here, I will take it and see where it will lead.”

Since there was no harm in trying, Juanita made her way back to the bin and dug the flyer out. She went to pick up her laptop and sat down on the chair. She switched it on and connected to Wi-Fi.

Juanita quickly typed in the web address written on the flyer and pressed enter. She waited anxiously as it loaded. She didn’t know what to expect or what she was going to see and it was scary as hell.

Juanita waited anxiously for five minutes before the laptop went blank and a message popped up onto the screen, “congratulations on winning Farm Family!”

And that was the last thing she saw before she also blacked out. Juanita had no idea what was going on but when she opened her eyes again, she was in shock.

She looked around the place she was in and couldn’t help but feel scared.

She was lying on a wooden bed that made her backache with just a movement. It wasn’t only that but she was in a room she didn’t recognize and the first thing she thought of was, “I have been abducted.”

To check this speculation of hers and think of ways to escape, she quietly climbed down and quietly walked on her toes and left the room with only the wooden bed in it.

When she walked out of the room, she felt like crying. The room she was in was just a thatched hut and there was nothing fancy or any house there. The place was more restricted as the only thing she could see was some piece of farming land and a well of water.

The rest of the place was just fog and there were no roads, in other words, it seemed like she was stuck here. She crumbled down and fell to the ground, tears falling down her cheeks and wetting the ground.

Pita…..pita……the sound of lonely tears could be heard as Juanita regretted following the flyer. If she had known that her life will change like this, she should have just stayed with her parents and performed her filial duties.

Now she didn’t know when she was going to leave this place. She didn’t even know who brought her here and what was she going to eat, change into or just live in this god-forsaken place?

Juanita was so much in pain that she didn’t see as the whole place lit up and, in that room, she had left and woke up in, a strange screen appeared and numerous words began to appear on it.

Juanita got tired of crying and fainted on where she was sitting. When she opened her eyes again, she found herself back on that bed again and she just wanted to cuss someone out.

This time she was calm, she needed plans to leave this place but the most important thing right now was to check this place and know it better otherwise she will never be able to leave at all.

After calming herself down, she looked around the room once more and received the shock of her life. Right there on the left side of the room and the opposite side of the bed was a huge screen with an email icon flashing on the screen.

“What kind of B.S is this one again?”

After so many things that had happened to her, Juanita was a bit calmer and since no harm had been done to her so far, she decided to see what was happening and who was toying with her.

With so much courage, Juanita approached the screen and clicked on the email icon since that was the only thing that she could think of that the moment. She was happy when the email opened. She breathed in and breathed out first before reading the contents of the email.
