“How are you finding this place, Luna?” Ethan’s nasally voice cut through my consciousness, but it took an extra moment to realise he was addressing me. Having considered that, he was now guiding me back to the castle.
Axel’s scent still lingered behind, making my fingers clasp tightly as I stared at his retreating back. How could he abandon me in the midway? The longing turned into a glare at the way he left, teeth-gritting together. Only if the people could see him for the actual cold person their Pack Alpha indeed was.
“Excuse me?” I said, blinking at the commander next to me, eyes zoning on the badge pinned on his chest. My cheeks tinged pink as I realised, in my spite, I completely ignored whatever he had to say.

Everyone cleared from the kitchen the minute I stepped inside. It’s like they all knew about this tradition, silly smiles on their face. However, I did not find it amusing.
