Chapter 13 -
Danny POV
His coat on, he picked up his bag and moved to the door. He turned saying, “Are you sure you’ll be ok. I’ll only be gone a few hours.”
That was sweet but I hardly require a babysitter. “I’m a grown woman in case you haven’t noticed. Most the time… I am perfectly capable of taking care of myself.” Besides, I knew he wasn’t coming back. He was sweet and I like having him here, but I was hardly worth staying for and I knew it. I feel this attraction, this pull to him. I thought it was mutual but I’ve been wrong before. I was too old for him and I knew he would have to admit it eventually. Hell, he stayed for three days but now he’s just dipping out? Maybe he finally came to his senses. We’ll see but I’m not holding my breath.

Danny POVWe finished up eating and he promptly took everything away and cleaned up. We had been laughing and playing alongside the Game Shows on the T.V. It was so relaxing, just enjoying each other’s company talking and joking. It was like we had done this every night together for the last 10 years. His smile was absolutely captivating, and every time I looked into his eyes my breath would catch. His sense of humor was wicked sharp, and he enjoyed teasing and arguing with me. Dingo/Davin POVI stayed with her, watching her breathe. Thinking of how to go about breaking it to her when she began to stir. I could tell she was awake by her change in breathing. Danny POVI have always loved the beach during a storm. There is so much raw power in the crashing waves, it’s so humbling. I drove to my usual spot. Danny POV I pulled into the Calloway Inn parking lot. It looked a little intimidating from the outside with pillars and valet parking. Not the type of place I prefer.
