5. The enemies have our Luna

Ryan heard someone yelling in the distance and looked in that direction. He felt Lillian was extremely sad. He wondered if it had something to do with the yelling. Just then Randall came running towards him.

“Lillian ran away from her father and ended up running to Shadow’s territory!” Randall told him through mind link.

His heart started pounding hard with fear. He howled to gather the elite wolfs.

“What now?” Freya asked in an annoyed, sleepy tone.

“Our Luna ran to Shadow’s territory.” Randall told her.

“What?” she asked in shock. “I’m coming!”

In a few seconds, Freya and Karlie were standing in front of them.

“What happened?” Freya asked him worriedly.

“We don’t know. I only saw her running to Shadow’s territory.” Randall told them.

“What do we do?” Karlie asked worriedly.

Everyone looked at Ryan for his instructions.

Ryan was having trouble deciding what he should do. If he provoked the Midnight pack, then Shadow will have a reason to attack his pack, but if he didn’t do anything, then Lillian’s life would be in danger. He was having trouble deciding.

“I’ll go alone.” He said, finally making his decision.

“You can’t go alone. What if he attacks you?” Freya asked him in a worried tone.

“I can’t risk our pack’s life nor my soulmate’s. Freya, if something happens to me, then you’ll be the next alpha.” He told her.

“But- “she stated to protest, but Ryan cut her off.

“No, buts!” he told her in his alpha aura on her, “You will not disobey my command!”

When an alpha uses his aura on his pack, it hurts, but it hurts even more if they go against it. The pain is pure torture and only a few have managed to break free from it.

Even though Freya was his little sister, he was still her alpha, which meant that she couldn’t disobey his command. If she did, then she would suffer from great pain and will be exiled from her pack.

She bowed her head to him.

“Yes, Alpha.” She replied.

“Randall, Karlie, you will be in charge of our pack’s safety and Freya’s. If anything happens, defend the pack.” He told them.

The two wolves bowed their heads.

“Yes, Alpha.” They said in union.

He nodded at them and ran towards the Midnight pack.

“Come back to me.” Freya told him through the mind link blocking others out, “I don’t want to lose you too.”

“I’ll try my best.” He told her and cut her off.

His mind was fully preoccupied with thoughts of Lillian that he didn’t notice a human standing in front of him. He accidentally would’ve hurled him over if he didn’t stop at the last second.

The human was Lillian’s father. When he saw the big white wolf running towards him, he saw his life flashing by. He stumbled back, looking at the giant wolf in fear, and his complexion was as white as paper. He thought he was going to die, but the wolf just gently sniffed him.

Ryan could smell the faint smell of Lillian off of him. He could also smell his fear. He transformed into his human form and held out his hand to Lillian’s father.

He looked in shock as he saw the big white wolf turn into a naked man, holding out his hand to him. He couldn’t believe in what his eyes just showed him.

“Don’t kill me.” He said unconsciously.

“We werewolves don’t harm humans.” Ryan told him.

‘Werewolves?!’ he thought in shock.

The shock was too much for him, and he passed out. Ryan groaned in frustration and pinched the bridge of his nose.

“I don’t have time for this.” He said in frustration.

“Randall, there is a human here, passed out from shock. Come and get him. I think he’s Lilian’s father.” He told him through mind link.

“On my way. How did he pass out, though?” Randall asked.

“I ran into him and changed into my human form to ask him what made Lillian so upset. He passed away from shock.” He told him.

Randall snickered.

“Nice first impression on your father-in-law.” Randall told him in a sarcastic tone.

“Shut up and get here before I strip all your fur off.” He threatened him.

“I’m coming, I’m coming. Jeez.” Randall told him.

Ryan changed into his wolf form and waited impatiently for him. After 20 seconds, he appeared.

“Take him to the pack. Esmeralda will look after him. Keep him safe.” He told him and then ran towards the Midnight pack without waiting for his answer.

Lillian was looking at the black wolf, shocked.

“Wow, you must be the most clever wolf in this whole wide forest.” She told him with amazement in her tone and expression.

“Thanks love. You have good eyes.” Shadow told her, feeling proud of her praise.

“What else can you do?” she asked him.

“Almost anything any human or animal can do,” he told her and rested his head on his paws.

“Are you tired?” she asked him, petting near his ear.

“No.” he told her with his eyes closed.

“Then why are you sleeping?” she asked him.

“Because I have nothing to do.” He told her.

“Wanna play with me?” she asked him.

He opened his eyes and looked at her.

“What do you have in my mind?” he asked her.

She looked up, frowning, and touched her head.

“Brain.” She told him.

He blinked at her once and then burst into laughter.

“You have a sense of humor. I love it!” he said and kept laughing.

She looked at him, confused, because she did not know why he was laughing.

“Are you laughing at me?” she asked him, feeling offended.

“There’s no one else here in this room.” He told her.

She got mad.

“Hmph!” she said.

She crossed her hands and looked away with an angry expression.

“Oi. You mad at me for laughing at you?” he asked her.

She didn’t reply and gave him the silent treatment. He nudged his nose against her. She pushed his face away. He blinked at her in surprise. No one else did was this mean to her. In fact, no one dare to offend him, but here she was pushing his face away in anger and what was more surprising to him was that he didn’t mind it at all. In fact, he wanted her to not be mad at him. He had never cared about what other felt about him, but now, here, he wanted her to not be mad at him.

He nudged his nose against her once more and she pushed him away again. He made a whimpering sound, which surprised him again.

Lillian looked at him angrily and then looked away again.

He moved away, making her fall on the bed. He started tickling her belly with his nose. She laughed, trying to push him away, but kept failing.

The sound of her laughing was the most pleasant thing he had heard in his entire life. He wanted her to always keep laughing like that, and he wanted to keep her by his side for years and years to come. He wanted to watch her grow and get married to her and he wanted her to have his kids and wanted to grow old with her and wanted to protect her with his life.

He had heard that a mate’s pull was the strongest and the most irresistible pull of the entire world. He didn’t believe it and even thought he would be able to resist it, but here he was giving in to her, not even wanting to resist her even a little.

“Alpha.” Blake told him through mind link.

He stopped tickling her and let out a low, annoyed growl.

“What?” he barked through the mind link.

“Ryan, is here.” Blake told him.

“How many wolves?” he asked him.

“Just him. He says he’s here for his Luna.” Blake told him.

“My Luna.” He growled at him.

“Yes, Alpha.” Blake said with a hint of fear in his tone.

“Such a bad doggy.” Lillian told him.

He looked at her, slightly offended.

“I’m a wolf,” he told her and then told Blake through the mind like, “I’m coming. Keep him there.”

“Yes, Alpha.”

“You, stay here. I need to go do something.” He told her and got off the bed.

“Can I come with you?” she asked.

“Finally talking, are we?” he asked her with a smirk and then added, “Stay here. I’ll be back in a few minutes.”

He then left her alone in the room and left to deal with Ryan.
