57. Real monsters

Lillian went back to her house. She went straight to her bedroom and, laying on the bed, she cried silently.

Shadow came back a few hours later with food and drinks. He found her asleep on the bed. He put the food in the fridge for later and went to her.

He crouched in front of her and saw that she had a deep, troubled frown on her forehead. He caressed her head and her frown eventually smoothened.

“Why do you keep having nightmares?” He asked in a voice that was barely a whisper.

He kissed her forehead and rested against his head on hers gently.

Three days passed by and Lillian never left the room. Shadow slept in the spare room and gave her space, but what bothered him more was that she wasn’t eating at all. He put food in front of her, but she never touched it.

Olivia came to check on her as well, but she talked to no one.

Even Zack called, but she wouldn’t answer the phone. Instead, she turned her phone off
