Learning basketball

 ‘Alice come here’

  Cammy calls  from a distance .

  Alice walks over meekly looking like a child that has been wronged.

  Cammy smiles and tosses the ball to Alice 

  ‘Here try to  bounce the ball,let’s start from here’.

  Alice collects the ball and bounces it skilfully as though she has been playing basketball all her life.

  ‘Wow that’s so impressive as expected from our guru,I wasn’t that good when I started’

  Seeing Cammy compliment her at the first try,Alice smiles and her face flushed red,she has always watched Cammy play basketball all the time for the past years and every single one of Cammy's movements is imprinted in her heart,she remembers every part of it.’

  ‘Since you have no problem with balancing and controlling the ball,I’ll teach you the basic skills in basketball, Dribbling,shooting, defence, rebounding and passing.’

  The two played basketball till it became Dark,Their families called them for dinner and they left the court to freshen up and eat.

  In the shower,

  Alice stood under the shower as she closed her eyes and thought of the burning sensation she felt when Cammy touched her,she almost lost control of herself there for a second. Just the thought of Cammy makes her crazy talk less Cammy touching her and in a sensitive area,Alice lost in her thoughts stood in the shower until her body had calmed down then she left to clean up.

  Even after playing basketball she wasn’t hungry,she had so much fun playing with Cammy she felt so happy and full,she and Cammy hadn’t played for so long since they grew up,Cammy always had boys playing basketball or football with her while Alice stays on the sidelines and watch Cammy having fun.She always felt satisfied just like that but now she’s starting to be a little more greedy and ambitious,seeing Jake openly courting Cammy woke her up,she must at least try even if she would get rejected.

  Alice laid on her bed staring into space ,Alfred knocks and she asks him to come in.

  ‘Hey Sweetie ,I heard Cammy saying you want to play basketball now ,is that true?’

  He asks as his eyes lit up,it should be known that Alice has never ever been interested in anything,even as a kid she never asked for toys ,plushies or game consoles. She always kept to herself and would only collect anything when her parents gave her.Being a father,it’s Alfred’s joy that his child finally had something she considers important enough to be interested in,if she decides to pick it as a career he swears he would do anything to make it possible.

  ‘Er. . . Yes,I find it quite interesting since Cammy looks like she enjoys playing it.’

  ‘I see,I just wanted you to know that if you need my help in any way don’t hesitate to ask. . . And if you have anything to tell me I’m all ears,I’m proud of the woman you are becoming and I love you Ali’ 

  He said as he pecked her forehead.

  Alice looks up to her father and she gets emotional,he always looks out for her,even when everyone called her a monster and she was bullied in school for being cold and indifferent he always stood by her,he had taken her to a therapist before that told him it was just her personality and she would eventually show interest and open up to whatever and whoever she wants.

  She loves him so much,so much it’s comparable to how much she loves Cammy.

  Alice reaches out to her father and hugs him tight. Alfred, surprised by her action, thought she might be going through a lot as she usually never does this ,he taps her on the shoulder gently and softly comforting her.

  They stayed like that until Alice fell asleep.Alfred tucked her in bed gently and was reminded of the old days when Alice was small,her mother was always busy with work and he would feed,dress ,comfort and sing to Alice everyday until she sleeps. It was tough but so worth it. Seeing his daughter grow up to be a beautiful young lady,he felt very blessed and truly happy.

After eating,Cammy lays on her bed and surfs through her I*******m,she saw she had received a message so she checked. It was from Jake!!!.

  ‘Hi cam’

  ‘Cam? hehehe like a special nickname for me? That’s cute ‘

  ‘I just thought to call you that,I’m glad you like it ‘

  ‘Yea ,how are you doing?’

  ‘I’m great,just showered and ready to go to bed’

  ‘Omg same’

  Cammy feels like she’s floating on the moon right now,she has never felt so happy to text someone back.

  ‘You looked so pretty today’

  ‘Ah. . .’

  ‘Thank you’

  Alice replied meekly as she added a heart emoji to it trying to be a little more bold.

  ‘It’s my pleasure,I guess I would see you tomorrow at basketball practice?’

  ‘Yea for sure’

  ‘Ok then good night cutie’

  ‘Hehehe good night Jake’

  They both go offline at the same time. As soon as she closes the chat ,Cammy tosses and turn on her bed squirming and making cute noises,she has never felt so happy and excited texting someone,Jake is a very attractive person and not just his face but she’s attracted to his whole being,even though she had never seen or spoken to him,the second she stood in front of the whole class and they locked eye contact,she lost herself in his pastel blue eyes, she felt as though it was only her and him in the room.

  He caught her staring then winked and she came back to her senses. She would have never thought he would approach or show interest in her.

  ‘I really am lucky’

  She thought to herself as she prepares to sleep.
