Hungry

She was fast asleep on her knees when suddenly something fell and her eyes opened. Suddenly she raised her head and opened her sleepy eyes and saw him standing by the stove.

Maybe a pot had fallen out of his hand. She had been sitting at the same angle since she came. Her legs were stiff. Her hands and feet were getting cold. Suddenly she felt dizzy. She was trying to straighten her legs due to severe weakness. She realized that she had not drunk a drop of water since morning, and if she had not eaten for a while, she would become unconscious. When did she run so hard? It was natural to get tired. She looked at him; He was opening a ton of can from the opener then maybe he took out some dried fish pieces from it and started frying.

The smell of food drove her hungry stomach crazy. She kept looking at him.

It was as if he were alone here. He had nothing to do with her existence. Perhaps he thought he had done her a favor by bringing her with him so there was no need for any more courtesy and hospitality. He did not even give her a friendly smile and kept busy with his work.

When the fish was fried, he made three sandwiches by placing the fish on one slice of bread and the cheese slice on the other. He lovingly placed them on the plate and started mixing coffee for himself in the cup. When the coffee was ready, he took both the things and sat down on the floor next to her and spoke.

“Will you eat?” And her condition was such that she snatched it from him. With an empty stomach, she forgot all her Ego. Today she come to know what hunger is, maybe that's why people are willing to do anything for the sake of their stomach.

In response to his offer, she barely managing her staggering and dizzy body, moved forward and without hesitation, picked up a sandwich from the plate and began to eat as if she were in danger of being snatched away.

Leaving his food, he stared intently at what looked like one of Ethiopia's starving people. In two or three bites she finished her sandwich, but one sandwich didn't even fill her stomach halfway. She immediately picked up another sandwich and started eating. At that moment, she could not remember anything except hunger. He, who had taken a snack from his sandwich also placed it in the plate in front of her and took out a packet of biscuits from his bag.

By the time he opened the packet, she had eaten three sandwiches with great satisfaction. He opened the packet and placed it in front of her. She was embarrassed. When the grain went into her stomach, she remembered all the shame. She also regretted her helplessness.

Without reaching for the biscuits, she just sat there with her head bowed, he said.

“If you have to drink Coffee, get up and make your own. Don't expect me to be your host.”

The accent was quite arrogant and rude type but instead of being angry at his accent she was surprised that he was talking to her.

“What is your name?” She asked in a tone full of enthusiasm and happiness.

“I get irritated by frivolous and stupid questions.” He spoke in his typical arrogant tone.

“This savage doesn't even know how to talk; he doesn't even know that respect for women is something.”  She kept thinking, and while he was drinking coffee, he became indifferent to her again. He didn't even ask her who she was and what she was doing in such a terrible jungle. It was as if he were absolutely careless, if she was, well, if she wasn't, that's fine.

Then he picked up the plate and cup from the stove and went out. It was too late and he didn't come back. Ayla got nervous and came out of the tent.

The darkness spread all around. There was silence except for the screams coming from afar. Strange sounds were heard from an animal or something else. She stood in awe.

Darkness and dense jungle all around, in which she was alone at that time, she started crying in fear. Then she heard footsteps near her and an involuntary scream came out of her mouth.

“What the hell? All you have to do is scream and run. You are a strange kind of girl.” He scolded her badly and entered the tent and she followed him with tears in her eyes.

There was a strange sense of security despite all of his rudeness. All of a sudden the fear disappeared.

He came in and turned off the emergency light and lay on the bed. She stood and stared at him for a while, then mixed the two fluorescence on the carpet and lay down on top of it. The sounds of animals approaching were frightening her. It was as if all the wild animals were crying together.

The dark, desolate forest began to whisper strangely in her mind.

“Listen, are you asleep?” She asked helplessly to allay her fears. The one who was half asleep became annoyed.

“What's the matter now?” He turned his face away and spoke in an angry tone. Ignoring his tone, she began to express her concern.

“Are we safe here? Otherwise, while we are sleeping, the beast will come in.” He slowly turned his face towards her and spoke with a smile.

“Why will any animal come? They don't care about their life. After all, Queen is enjoying her sleep here. Madam, you are safe from all sides. There is no danger of any kind. Please relax.” His sarcastic tone made her fierce. He fell asleep again with his face on the other side.

She spent the whole night in a strange state. Sometimes she would suddenly sit in awe. What time of night was it when her eyes were opened by the start of the car? She opened her eyes but it was dark.

It was not yet dawn. She came out in a daze. Car was going away. She ran behind the car at full speed.

“Listen please, stop.”
