Chapter 2

Cheer Dance

"HEY! TAMARA. What happened to you, best? You have been so quiet there again,” I was even more surprised someone touched my arm. "I'm not used to it, best friend."

“N-nothing. I was just nervous about our performance, later. So, let's go now?” I replied and simply looked away outside the window. since sports fest week, there will be a competition at school. The two have an intermission number of cheering groups —  one is the one I belong to, and the other was Rebeka's group. We count in the group of Magnus and Rebeka in the opposing group.

“Wow! 'eh? Are you, nervous? To whom and why what?” Aira asked in astonishment and raised an eyebrow.

“Tsk! Aira, I'm really just thinking.”

“I know who and where you were looking before. I bet he’s occupying your mind now, yeah? ” she smirked.

I raised an eyebrow. "Eh, who?"

“Who else. Eh, I guess, he's the one, look." And she even points her lips to me to see who she was referring to.

Then and there, she was referring to the new transferee — Magnus.

“Owz! How sure are you?” she winked at me. “Oh, Aira, you are very wrong. you’re just imagining things again,” I just said even though it was true. Magnus is really what I’m looking at. But of course, no, I will not make it noticed, and I will not admit it too.

Never!

“He’s handsome, Tam, isn’t he? Hey, he is really a fan here at our school. Even though he is new to the team, he was immediately the so-called star of their basketball team because he’s really a good player. Very good when he dribbles. Gosh, he always made three points. We watched their practice,” Aira said while smiling and still staring at Magnus in the distance. She was, even more, a super fantastic.

“Eh, it's good, so it's not embarrassing when I cheer on their team."

"Of course. I trust him and the colleague players they have. I think that they will win the game now, Tam.”

“Whatever, Aira. if they win, eh, let's be happy for their team,” I said.

“Let’s go, the program is about to start. Look, they’re calling us. You can daydream there later.”

I frowned.

“Tsk! Okay. You really are the perfect one,” she said in a low tone.

"What?"

“Haha. I said you are really beautiful, Tam. Let's go." she stood up smiling, and then pulled me by the hand.

"You talk a lot of, Aira." I'm shaking my head at my friend who has a lively smile.

All the students were in the big court at that time.

“Ladies and gentlemen… St. Vincent Academic School, are you alive now? Let me hear your voice, students!” The people clapped and applauded. “Yeah, that’s right! C’mon, let’s now begin our sports Fest!” the emcee shouts into the microphone.

All students are shouting all around the court.

“And now, please, let us welcome one of the amazing groups who will perform today! Presenting… the Chasing Squad!”

The crowd screamed my name. They kept on screaming as the music started to play. Everyone applauds and is proud.

“Go, Tamara! I love you! We love you, queen!” These words echoed throughout the place.

Almost everyone is shouting my name. I went to the front of the court and made the entrance move first. I smiled sweetly and smirked. I waved, then flew a kiss around until it reached our basketball team.

Magnus and I stared at each other. And I was surprised when he winked in my direction, then sexily smiled at me. I raised an eyebrow and raised my forehead and removed my eyes from him, and then I began to swirl in the middle of the court.

When I started to dance, everyone stared in awe. It's like I was Ella Cruz at that time and my movements were like Maja Salvador dancing. They shouted again when another cheer dancer came out. Until incrementally and our group in the middle became whole.

I danced wildly and effortlessly on the dance floor. So everyone is impressed with the inherent skill and agility of my body. Until we danced at the same time to the chorus of the song, “Twerk It Like Miley.”

The students are still struggling, they and the teachers are all amazed by every swing of my body and hip. And more they were stunned when I was thrown in the air, and that's how we ended up with our cheer dance number.

All viewers are still screaming, shouting for more than time. We bowed breathlessly while I was still in the air. They still haven’t stopped saying, ‘more.

Suddenly my eyes widened in the direction of our basketball team. For the second time, Magnus and my eyes met again. He smiled while holding the ball.

I Do not know if only I had been amused when he winked at me the same as before. I almost went out of balance, 'fortunately, I was able to hold on to my partner immediately.

Whoa. I almost lost my balance. What the hell had just happened? The first time it happened I lost focus. Oh, you’re such a bad boy, Mister Transferee. It is your fault.

When our performance was over, our group left immediately in the middle. Upon walking, we wave among those who still shout, ‘More, Tamara! More!’.

We immediately entered the dressing area. Because there is another group that will perform — my cursed cousin's group. The group of Rebeka.

I sat in a chair, then drank the bottled water I brought.

“Tam, you were really good as ever. Wooo... When you are dancing, all of us adore you. Especially when you started your twerk like Ella and Maja dancing. But I most love your version of ‘Twerk It Like Miley.” Aira said happily and made a high five to me.

“Tamara!” Roberta shouted while coming in our direction. Also, Aira shouts.

“Hey! My ear!” I complain while frowning.

They didn't listen and they looked like they were crazy. They high-fived in front of me, then frowned and collided with their buttocks.

I just laughed and shook my head. They are my best buddies. My stress reliever and my shoulder to cry on. They are the ones I run whenever there are things that are not going well in our house.

“Our Tamara is really good, isn’t it? No one can beat our dance queen ever. We really won the competition,” said Aira.

“Right! Even her cousin Rebeka. Hey, my ass! It's really just sour. Oh, take a look. Trying hard dancers. They just want to get the attention of others,” Roberta said while smirking and even raising an eyebrow as he peered out outside.

I just shook my head. They are too much if they praise me. And an insult to my cousin. Well, I can’t blame them. That is because Rebeka has never been good to me.

“Hey, girls. That's enough. We should ignore them. They just envy us, because we are goddesses compared to them,” I said just to make them stop.

"She is very jealous and too insecure,” they uttered in unison.

Others are simply distracted and shaken by their noise. Others are also laughing just like Aira and Roberta.

“Hey, you’re really the best, Tamara. I always love dancing with you. And you always rock the dance floor, unlike Rebeka's group.” said a female colleague of our Cheering group.

"Yeah, we all agree with that," said others.

“In fact, Tamara is the most influential of our group, eh? We’re also getting famous because of her,” said a gay who was also in our group. "Do you agree, Chasing Squad?"

"Yeah!" they shout at once. "Good job queen, Tamara!” they shouted repeatedly.

I'm glad they cheered me on. “Thank you so much, guys. Think about it, I did not do it all without you in this group,” I said happily.

Then we hugged each other and smiled to the fullest.

"Let's go out, girls," Roberta said to us. “The dance number of the witch Rebeka is about to end. And the others have already left to watch a game." He added.

“You go first, girls. I will follow immediately,” I said

“Okay, you follow right away, huh? We will wait for you there,” Aira mumbled.

“Don’t miss the game, Tamara. This is the first game of the handsome, Magnus in this school,” Roberta said, while his eyes gleamed.

“Okay. I won’t. I'll be right there, promise,” I replied.
