Chapter 4

New Heartthrob

"GOTTA go, sexy. Thanks to this water. Again wear it!" Magnus pointed to the hood jacket, then turned away.

I still frown as he walks out of the dressing area. Wait! Did he just approach me for my water and this hood jacket? How weird he really was.

Oh, boy! you are not important for me to follow this school. You have no right to say 'I don't want to share what's mine. For your information, no one owns me here. Not even you.

I suddenly stared at the jacket, then checked it out and smelled it. Well, the brand is luxurious. and another, the fragrance as well.

Well! Nice. Why not use it temporarily and return it to him later? But I'll wear it not because I follow him but because I decided.

I went out and went straight to the gym.

"Magnus! Magnus! Magnus!"

Almost that name can be heard throughout the gym. The number of women who are really excited, especially the gays who are the number 1 fans of Magnus. One on top is Roberta who was about to squat on the spot just for Magnus.

Suddenly my two friends stopped cheering when they saw I was coming, their mouths were astonishingly looking in my direction.

"What the heck are you wearing, Tamara?" Roberta grimaced the moment I was near them.

"Hey! When did you become a conservative? Oh, c'mon! Take that ugly jacket off, Tamara. It is not suited for you, promise." Aira said as if disgusted by my appearance.

"What's wrong with this? Look, it is good."

"Yeah, we agree. But can it be? It is so ugly. It's not really your thing to be a conservative, girl." Roberta said artfully.

"Yeah! I agree with you, sister. So, Tamara, take it off. Look at us. Don't be cheated. Be fair to us," Aira protested.

I sighed and Looked into the middle of the court. My eyes reach Magnus, he has the ball in his hand, and then it's just cliche because the surroundings suddenly seem to be in slow motion and I can still clearly see his slight smile at me as if telling me I was doing a good thing.

When Magnus turned to the ring he threw the ball. He shot that without a touch of the ring, and his group immediately got three points for it. So the resounding applause throughout the court. He then turned to me again, nodding and winking at the same time.

"Oh! I didn't see my dearest Magnus three points! Annoying!" I heard Roberta snort.

"Three points? Oh, shit! Me, too. I didn't witness his dribble. Uhf, this is all your fault, Tamara. You get distracted by your presence," Aira also complained.

"I'm really the one you're blaming, huh? Who is interfering with my trip to wear this jacket? Oh, It's not my fault, it's your fault, guys." I blinked and then unbuttoned the jacket. "Oh, there! I will take it off for fair-fair you are pushing," I said with a raised eyebrow.

"Hey, don't ever show us your frown, Tamara. Or else, that'll make you ugly later," Roberta said and even touched my arm to sit next to them. "We just want you to take it off. It's a pity because you're beautiful and of course, our costume is too beautiful to cover with that jacket."

"Agree! So, don't frown there, best friend. All right, when you look ugly, you will be replaced by your trying-hard cousin to being a campus queen." Aira again my cousin's group was even not far away from us.

I raised an eyebrow at Rebeka's group, that now excitedly looking in Magnus's direction.

Tsk! Own team, not even cheered!

"Oh my, Rebeka, she winked! girl, it is for you. That three-point is for you," I heard Rebeka's team mumble.

The witch was also thrilled. She feels, Magnus did that for her. I simply shook my head and smiled. They were so assuming anyway.

All right, I'll just give them that wink I know for me, and even the three points they refer to.

"It's okay, dear. I didn't force all the students at this school to make me campus queen. I was just doing what I know and what I wanted to achieve for myself. Maybe it's just made me popular. But whether I'm famous or not, it's really okay with me," I said with a smile. That was me, trying to be down-to-earth.

"Yeah! You're right there, sister. You don't need to show off. Because you are really beautiful and you are still very famous."

"Well, thank you. You are really my best friend," I said then turned to the court.

When our eyes met again, Magnus was barely frowning.

Hey, really? is he frowning at me? What's wrong with him? He's the only guy who did that to me. So a weird one.

I just raised my eyebrow at him and removed my attention from his stares.

"Am I just kidding? Or what I see is really true?" Aira said in disbelief.

"What?" dead-malicious I asked without turning to Aira.

"The famous guy is looking at us. Particularly in your direction."

"Who is that?"

"Our new varsity player, Magnus. The crush of the whole campus, the new heartthrob. Who else?" she says.

I smiled wryly. "You know Aira, you're hallucinating again. And why would he look at it here, hm? Eh, in the number of people around, really, in my direction?"

"My instinct told me, sis. I know, my eyes are not just deceiving me."

I smiled to face Aira. "Then I suggest that you should wear your nerdy eyeglasses to prove that your instinct is very wrong, sis."
