Chapter 57

POV Thea

Eyes closed, my limbs feeling heavy. The sound of a child’s laughter came to me in the distance. Like a tv had been left on in another room, I could hear it but couldn’t quite make out the words.

A sharp scent hit my nose making me gag and my eyes jolt open. Krissy sat on my chest making it hard to breathe. Her face inches from mine. Her black eyes swirling with hints of every color.

“You can’t sleep now.” She whispered. A low growl rumbled in her chest as she spoke. Her voice not quite her own.

Moving my head back I tried to move far enough away for my eyes to focus.

I could hear the sound of one of her claws elongating before cutting into the skin on my collar bone.

“Ow, what the fuck Krissy.” I hissed bringing my hand up to check the bleeding.

She leaned back putting her full weight on my stomach. Raising her hand to her mouth she licked the blood from her nail. A mischievous crooked grin slowly forming on her face.
