Chapter 5

Miranda Pov

" Hey! Why did you do that!!" I shot at him but he didn't say a word, just kept growling at the television, his eyes glowing. I glanced back at the television, wondering what made him so riled up.

" You don't like him?" I asked, pointing at the man on the television. The growling lessened but his eyes were still glowing. Reluctantly, he nodded. I sighed, plopping back to my seat, letting out a sigh, I turned off the television. " Okay, I won't show him to you anymore. See?" I said glancing at the now blank television.

He stopped growling but he still stood there, staring at me. Feeling a bit uncomfortable by his stares, I stood up, walking towards him.

" Come on, let's get you to a room. You need to rest." I muttered pushing him. He didn't move at all, so I had to use all of my strength to do that and that was hard. He was built like a brick wall and was so heavy. it was hard pushing him forward. By the time we got to an empty room, I was already out of breath and wheezing.

" Here..." I forced out, gasping for air. " Go get some rest," I said but he just stood there, staring at the bed. Running a hand through my hair in frustration, I marched into the room and sat on the bed, patting my side. " Come over here." I beckoned to him.

Very slowly, he left the door side and walked inside, sitting down beside me like an obedient puppy. I glanced at him as he stared ahead, not doing anything. Even sitting, he's still so huge. His side profile is even more beautiful. I shook my head, trying to get all those dirty thoughts out. I laid on the bed and he turned, watching me with a brow raised. " Come on, lay with me." I prodded. He looked around for a while, doing just that. He was scooted close to me, his eyes breathtaking. I reached up to his head. patting it softly. There were so soft, I wanted to keep doing that.

" Good boy…" I whispered. ruffling his hair " By the way, I really like your eyes. they're so pretty." I said. He just kept staring, content with the way he was close to me. " Now close them," I muttered. He didn't listen to that part as he kept staring at me but he soon gave way to tiredness and his eyes closed in their own accord, his breath evening out in sleep. I stayed there for a while, watching him as he slept while patting his overgrown, soft hair. My eyes caught the scars that marked his body but I forced myself not to think about that one now. Then stood up, quietly walking out of his room.

That's when it hit me. What am I doing, bringing a stranger I barely know into my house and taking care of him?! But he's not just a stranger, my subconscious reminded me. It's a shapeshifter too. I stopped in my tracks. That much was true. I had seen an injured wolf and right before my eyes, it transformed into a human. And he also confirmed it. Is he a werewolf? I thought they weren't real? I sighed, going to the kitchen to get a bottle of water. Taking a few gulps, I sat on the counter, thinking it through. He had to be a werewolf, any normal human would have died with the number of wounds he had. Not to mention how quickly he healed as well.

That's not even the problem now. Why did he react so strongly to the man on the television? And why did he not want me to call the number on the screen as well? He even smashed my phone! Remembering that, I went over to pick the pieces on the floor. I groaned, my anger spiked up again. I'll have to get a new one now. He seems hostile to everyone as well, not to mention all the wounds on his body when I found him. He must've been maltreated a lot. Whatever happened to him, I just can't let him go... At least not now. I need to find out as much as I can.

I stayed there for a long time, thinking everything through. In the end, I decided it won't be a bad idea to let him stay while figuring out what to do with him. When I stood up to him back to the kitchen, he was standing there, staring at me. I flinched, startled.

" Oh! You're awake already." I muttered, holding my chest. " Why are you just standing there?" I asked. A loud rumbling answered my question. It was coming from his stomach. I smirked, folding my hands. " You're hungry?" I asked, my voice glowing with mischief. Very slowly, he nodded. I chuckled, wondering at how adorable he looked just standing there, nodding. Walking ahead, I led him to the kitchen and brought out all the edibles in my fridge. Making a mental note to go for some grocery shopping immediately I get the chance, I placed them before him.

He literally attacked the food, gobbling everything in front of him. I stared at him in shock, my jaw hanging open. Why was he eating like that?! He didn't stop till everything was empty, emitting a loud burp. Mentally slapping myself, I cleaned up the mess he made and brought a bottle of water, passing it to him. He didn't drink it, just held it with him. I had to show him what to do. He then finished all the contents.

Gently sitting down, I watched him as he looked around, playing with his fingers. It's amazing how someone as big as this can manage to look so small. I shook my head, stopping myself from smiling. He glanced at me, his eyes glimmering.

" I've decided." I finally began, clearing my throat. " I'm going to be keeping you," I announced.
