I carried her into our room and placed her gently on the bed. Hee hands were still wrapped around my neck tightly.

"Hmm... finally. It's you." She murmured out as she closed her eyes and allowed her hands drop from my neck.

A small found its way to my lips.

After a moment of watching her body movements, I noticed she wasn't comfortable in the dress she was wearing and so I got up to probably look for a simple dress to change her into since she looked very tired, tired enough to take a bath.

I had just arrived back into the bedroom when I noticed that she had turned in her slip, making her shirt roll up her abdomen a little.

Odd.

Why was her abdomen looking weird?

I returned to my position on the bed and got hold of her shirt as I opted to take it off her. And then I saw it.

Her swollen belly.

I knew her body better than I knew the back of my palm and this was no belly fat. Quickly, I took her shirt off her, making my new discovery even clearer and more pronounced.
