Chapter 18: Something Different

Ellena did not expect to hear such harsh words. She withdrew from the chair and reached out to adjust the glasses on the bridge of her nose. “Oh.”

She knew Edward disliked her.

But she didn’t feel very sad about his reaction because there were the usual words she heard all her life.

After all, Naomi was supposed to be his bride. But unfortunately he was tied with an ugly bumpkin like her. Anyone in his place would be angry and dislike it.

So Edward’s reaction didn’t surprise her lot.

Even though he despised her, she didn’t feel anything but complete indifference.

“If there is nothing, I’ll go out first.”

Edward didn’t say anything, so she didn’t have any reason to stay. She turned around and left the study.

As the door closed, Edward turned his chair and looking in the direction of the door.

This was the first time he had encountered just a woman. Not only
