Chapter 104

JASMINE

When I woke, I found myself on cold, hard concrete. I groaned, my neck in pain from being in an awkward position while I slept. I tried to roll over and move my hands, only to find them very heavy. I could feel metal scraping against skin as I struggled to move my arms a little. I opened my eyes, looking around. At first, I couldn’t process where I was, none of it made sense. I’d never seen surroundings like these before—a small room with a cold, hard concrete floor, and a barred metal door. A barred door like ones used for jail cells. I gasped as I realized that’s exactly where I was—inside a jail cell.

I lifted my head to get a better look, moving it to find there was a toilet in the corner behind me—one that clearly hadn’t been cleaned in a long time, possibly years. It didn’t even have a seat, and the whole perimeter of it was stained yellow. I sat up, using my core strength to lift myself, and realized with horror that I had to pee. I would have no choice but to use that
