Death.

“Hello miss, don’t you think it’s time to come study? I’ve been waiting for ages” Mrs. Bethy asked knocking on Crystal’s door.

She was one of the best teacher in Crystal’s school and she trained Crystal too. So she knew almost everything about Crystal and how to treat her.

“Go away!!” Crystal yelled out with a pillow on top of her head. She had tried forgetting the fact that her parents left without her but couldn’t.

“I hate this life!” She mumbled to herself still in her room.

“Come on Crystal, you still have the whole year to go out with them, just come down let’s study. Your exam is in three days time.” Mrs. Bethy begged .

Crystal sat up on her bed hearing that her exams were coming up soon enough. She just didn’t  want to be a failure in her family so she decided to study.

Her dad had planned to take her to the best school so she could finish her senior year and to do that, she was supposed to pass the school’s  exam.

“I hate my life” She spilled out Again as she rolled her eyes before standing up from her bed to go open the door for Mrs. Bethy.

“Am sorry ma” She apologized immediately she saw her in front of her door.

“Its ok lovely, you don’t  have to apologize. I understand that you miss them and you are going through a lot ok?” Mrs. Bethy lowered her height to Crystal’s height so she could talk to her.

“I understand ma, now let’s start please before I change my mind” She spoke out with a rude tone as she walked to the sitting room to wait for her tutor..

After few minutes, they started their normal tutorial  and she tried her best to understand what was being taught by Mrs. Bethy.

They had fun too as the lesson went on. Mrs. Bethy wasn’t  the boring kind of tutor so she tried her best to make the lesson lively.

“Ok Crystal, that’s all for today. I guess I would see you again next week Saturday right?” Mrs. Bethy who was through with her job stood up from the couch as she grabbed her bag to leave the house.

“And before I leave “ She stopped and spurned to address an issue placing her gaze at Crystal.

“Yes Mrs. Bethy?” Crystal responded with a smile. She was glad that the lesson for the day had ended and she was going to be free to do whatever she wanted.

Although she  wasn’t  that happy about her parents leaving her at home she just had to cope.

“When your dad gets home, tell him it’s the end of the month and I would love to have my pay earlier than ever” She stated before leaving the house.

Mr. Mark wasn’t  the kind of man to owe a debt so it was certain that he was going to pay Mrs. Bethy sooner or later.

Crystal picked up her books from the table after her tutor had left. She was home alone and it made her feel bored.

She walked up to her room and quickly dropped her books on her bed. She laid on her bed and sweet memories she had with her parents kept on popping into her head.

She smiled endlessly and that was as a result of her being happy.

She could still recall how her troublesome brothers would enter her room and mess the whole place up just to make her angry.

“Twerps” She whispered which was the last word that came out of her mouth before dozing off.

“Hey Jack, listen to your dad” Mrs. Rose ordered.

They were already in their train which was moving faster than expected.

“Am just scared mom” Jack announced as he left his dad’s arms and went to meet his mom. He wrapped his hands round her in a warm embrace.

It was his first time boarding a train so he wasn’t that used to it.

Jay the strong hearted twin sat down close to his dad and acted like nothing serious was happening.

After few minutes in their train, they discovered that the train was moving at a faster range or speed and had no control.

Rose looked at her husband Mark who had became confused himself.

He stood up from his seat and decided to go see what was happening at the PTC (positive train Control).

He opened the door and to his greatest surprise, the two Train drivers or engine drivers were dead.

Their heads were placed on the buttons in front of them with blood spilling all over the place.

It was obvious that they were shot by someone but who? Mr. Mark wondered. He looked scared but couldn’t  go to meet his wife and kids with such expression.

He had to change his Expression  before walking out of the control room.

It was going to be their end and he knew it. He walked to where his wife and kids were and all that popped into his head was his daughter Crystal who was all alone at home.

He sat down and had refused to say a word to his wife who was  looking at him curiously.

“Is everything ok in there?” Rose questioned in a low tone so other passengers won’t hear a word from her mouth..

“Yeah,” He lied as he looked into her eyes. He had began to hold in the tears that threatened to fall off his eyes.

Rose understood that look and immediately, she went to sit with him and had her children by her side ..

“I guess it’s that bad Mark” She whispered into his ears.

Hearing her say such made him feel bad. It had struck a chord in his heart and without hesitation, tears began to drop from his eyes.

Jay and Jack could only watch their father shed tears but didn’t know why

The other passengers began to panic when they Saw Mark  and his wife looking sad.

It was obvious that something had happened in the control room but Mark had refused to open up.

A man in his late fifties decided to go look for himself And when he got there, he fell to the ground crying. “We’re all gonna fucking die!  Shit we are all gonna die!” he yelled out and without hesitation everyone stood up from their seats and went closer to the doors to make it open.

They stepped on each other just to make it out alive but the train doors were locked.

“Are we really gonna die?” Jack asked with a tender voice.

“And leave Crystal all to herself?” Jay added feeling bad. He wished he never mentioned her tutor coming over. Now she was going to spend her life all alone. He thought to himself.

“We would make it out Alive, it’s a promise” Rose caressed her kids hair gently as hot tears began to drop from her eyes.

“My baby” she whispered as uncontrollable tears ran down her cheeks.

“Alert ! Alert! Incoming train from the west, make a correct turn now” The radio in the control room announced and suddenly there was a stamped.

Everyone tried their best to escape the train but it was more like a planned murder from the beginning.

No one in the train knew how to drive a train , no one could stop the train from moving , no one had an idea about it.

It was a sad Moment for everyone in the train. They were all going to die and there was no need to continue the struggle.

Everyone went back to their different spots crying to the heavens to help them out.

It was no fun seeing the ones you love die. There were families inside the train, grandparents of different individuals , a full family too and yet no one could save the train..

Jack looked around him and all he saw people do at that moment was cry. They had no other solution other than crying and it made him scared.

“Thought you said we won’t die mom” He looked at his mom who’s dress were already soaked with tears.

His dad kept on shaking his head at the thought of the pains he would face.

It was at that point that Jack realized that it was really an end game for him and his family.

Crystal woke up from her sleep few hours later and discovered that it was already getting late but her parents and siblings were not yet home.

“Mom promised to be home today, where are they?” she rubbed her eyes as she stood up from her bed and walked over to the sitting room.

She turned the television set on and decided to know what was happening around her.

She stood up from the couch and went into the kitchen to  go get a meal. She was still dancing happily when she heard the news .

She stopped for a while before turning to leave the kitchen. The pots were still opened but she didn’t mind.

She walked to the sitting room with fear in her body.

“A train coming from Seattle the East- West part was crushed by  another train and barely all the passengers survived. A ninety-nine percent of passengers were found laying lifeless in the train when it was opened. Please indicate if your loved ones boarded the train . Thank you!” the lady in the television who read the news  spoke out politely.

Crystal couldn’t wrap her head around what was happening. She smirked with the mindset of her parents were ok.

She reached her phone and immediately dialed her mom’s number but her mom wasn’t picking up.

She did the same with her dad’s contact but it was saying turned off.

“Now am getting scared!” she mumbled as she tried their contacts again . “Come on mom , pick up. Let me know you guys are alright” She added as she began to walk round the house endlessly.

She heaved a heavy sigh as she tried for the  twentieth time.

“Hello” someone picked up the call.

“Thank goodness.. mom how….” Crystal tried saying but then the person who had picked up the call interrupted.

“This is the phone of a dead human, please come help your family at the train station!” immediately the call ended.

Crystal paused for a while wondering what she had just heard the other person say.

She was only twelve years old and losing her parents wasn’t something she wished for.

She sat down slowly on the couch and different thoughts popped into her head as tears ran down from eyes soaking her clothes.

“My parents are dead” she mumbled looking lost alone in the house.

After few minutes, she couldn’t take it anymore. She stood up from the couch , grabbed her bag from her room and left for the train station.

“I don’t believe that they are dead. No… not my parents!” she stuttered as she dashed out of the house.
