"Are you nervous?" I asked, pointing to his ear.
"Why should I be nervous?" he grumbled as he pulled into the hospital parking lot.
"You're blushing, which is why I'm asking if I ever make your heart flutter because I said I wouldn't leave you," I teased him further. When he properly parked the car, I laughed and unbuckled my seatbelt.
"Don't tease me too much because I might fall for you,"
When I didn't hear what Eugene said, I quickly turned to him, but he hurried out of the car.
I quickly got out and went to the back of the car, where he was. What did he say? I haven't heard much.
"Hey! What did you say earlier? I didn't hear you," I asked as I assisted him in lifting the baby basket into which the twins would be placed later.
"No, it's your fault you're beautiful but didn't clean your ears," he teased as he pinched my nose.
He walked away, closing the compartment. I quickly followed him.
When we arrived at the nurse station, a lady nurse approached Eugene right away.
"Hi Sir, may I assist you?" she asked, flirtatiously.
"Stop glaring at her haha." Uge whispered in my ear, I turned to him and stared at him being annoyed.
I didn't notice I was glaring at her.
"Why? Are you enjoying the nurse being flirty with you?" I ask him to whisper so the nurse who's eyeing this man won't hear.
Eugene laughs so hard before turning to the nurse again.
"Hello Nurse, we are here to discharge our babies," he said.
I saw the nurse's expression from flirty to annoyed, when she looked at me I just smirked at her face and raised my brow. I was shocked when she just shrugged her shoulders and looked at Eugene again.
"What are the names of the babies, sir?" she asks Eugene, trying to look cuter with her puppy eyes.
When I became enraged, I pushed Eugene and approached the nurse.
"Thorious Clark and Lokious Clark Ibanez, Miss Nurse," I replied, looking at her; she sneered and turned her back after nodding her head.
"Did you see that?" I ask Eugene, my eyes wide with shock due to the nurse's attitude.
He just laughs at me. I was surprised when he drew my waist closer to him, and I stiffened when I felt her mouth on my ear.
"Eugene, what the hell, get away from me... it tickles," I said, but he just grabbed my waist tighter.
"Our babies have arrived...Mommy Laura," she said affectionately, and my chest throbbed.
I saw the two nurses who had been assigned to the twins a few minutes later. I went straight for Eugene's alcohol to sanitize it. I approached the twins with glee and loaded one.
"Hello, Baby Thor, let's go home," I said, smiling as I kissed his cheek and approached Eugene, who was also carrying Loki.
"Hello, Daddy," I said as I handed Thor to Eugene. He knelt and kissed the child on the cheek.
"Let's go home, son," he said sweetly.
"Hi Baby Loki, are you excited to go home? Bat kick you kick haha," I joked as I watched his tiny foot kick.
"You may take them home, Ma'am; all the bills and papers are fine; congratulations!" I nodded and thanked them before placing Thor in the Baby basket; Eugene did the same.
We were almost there when I noticed Elias standing next to Eugene's car. Eugene's friend Elias is a tech geek.
"I called him to drive us home," Eugene said, smiling as he looked at his friend in the distance. When we got closer, we couldn't stop laughing at what we heard.
"My parents will be disappointed when they find out; they raised and loved me, and now this is going to happen to their son? When did I become a Driver for that moron?"
"Your babbling nonsense, you're ready for the car," Eugene exclaimed.
"What if I don't want to — oh! Wow, are these my god children?" Uge's friend's eyes and mouth literally grew bigger.
"Don't get too close, you're dirty," I joked as Elijah frowned and turned to face me.
"Hello Secretary Laura, or should I say Mommy Laura?" he teased, followed by a loud laugh.
"You're not on their godfather list," I told him right away. I burst out laughing because he was so taken aback.
I carefully entered the car while carefully carrying Thor in my arms.
"Don't be sad, I'll put you on the Mothers list," Eugene teased him before I closed the door.
———
"Thank you for the ride," I said to Elijah, waving.
"Anytime, as long as I will be their godfather," he said.
"We'll think about it," Eugene answered him.
———
"Thor fell asleep," I said as I gently lowered him into his crib.
Eugene did the same thing to Loki because he, like his twin brother, fell asleep.
I sat on my bed, sorting through the twins' clothes, diapers, and milk.
"Is it really okay if they will sleep here in your room?" he asked.
He's worried I will not get enough sleep because I decided to put their crib here in my room the other day.
"Yes, just in case they wake up; after all, they're babies, they can't sleep alone," I responded, trying not to disturb the twins' nap time.
Eugene approached me and sat on my bed.
"I can help, I know what to do, and we learned how to care for them at the same time," he said as I handed him the baby towel and cleaning supplies for the twins for later. They will need a warm bath later.
"I know you can...but I just want them here so that if they cry, I can just stand up and take care of them," I explained.
"What if they both cry at night? You can't handle two babies in your arms," he clearly stated.
" I'll call you to your room for help," I replied, shrugging my shoulders. I turned around and went to the cabinet to get my clothes; I also needed to clean myself because germs had gathered outside.
"I'll sleep here as well," he said, and I dropped my clothes in shock. I quickly turned to face him and noticed that he was dead serious about what he said.
"W-why? I-I mean... It's just across your room. I'll just call you," I said panickedly, my breathing became heavy because of nervousness.
"You said it's more convenient to stay in one room because if one of the twins cries, we can take care of them right away; I don't want to give you all the responsibility Laura; I want to do this with you... let me do this with you."
I rubbed my brow and blew air into the void. My heart is already racing so fast that I don't think I can sleep next to him.
"All right," I said, my eyes narrowing as I looked at him. I caught him smiling, but when he realized I was looking at him, he sniffed to cover it up.
"You're that happy that you'll sleep next to me?" I joke, trying to hide my own nervousness.
He looked at me with a shocked expression, and when he realized what I had said, he sneered at me and stood up.
"Excuse me, I'm just smiling because I can sleep with the boys," he explained, rolling his eyes like a teen.
I quietly laugh as I watch him try so hard to deny what I said.
"Tsk, stop laughing, hmp! I'll go to my bedroom to put on my pajamas," he said as he walked out of my room.
I silently screen before slamming my face into the bed when the door finally closes. Oh no, I'll have to spend the night with him. I don't think I'll be able to sleep tonight because of this.
I got up on the bed when I heard the baby crying; I didn't know who he was at first, so I just picked him up and tried to make him stop crying. Later, I realized it was Loki who was crying."Why is the baby crying?" I asked, swaying my body slowly. When Eugene returned to my room, he looked at us with worry. He started to walk closer to us to check on Loki, but Thor's loud cry startled him, and he dashed to the other crib."Hey... what happened, hm? Daddy is here," he said sweetly as he carefully lifted Thor."We'll need to clean their bodies later so they can sleep comfortably," I said, noticing the twins' loaded diapers. He approached me while holding Thor in his arms. We're now facing each other, holding the twins. I smiled when I noticed he couldn't take his eyes off Loki. He can't decide who is going to look first."I think they're starving," Eugene stated. While still holding Loki in my arms, I nodded and walked over to the milk formula and bottle on the other side of the bed.H
"I forgot to tell you that we don't have to go to work for a week," my brow furrowed."What do you mean? Is that all right?" I asked, and he shrugged."I'm the Boss, Laura. I can do whatever I want," he said trying to be arrogantly, I just laugh at his face. "OK, Sir," I said quietly as I stared at him, but Eugene just laughed and finished his coffee."And there's an agency that can help us with the babysitter," he said, which surprised me.When did he do that, exactly?"That's really quick, but please make sure they can be trusted.""That's why we've taken a week off work. The two helpers will arrive later at lunch, we'll monitor them for a week, and if they're good, we'll be more reassured." "He explained to me in a serious tone, assuring me that he will not 'just choose the person' and that children's lives would be put at risk."But I couldn't help but worry. I've read a lot about how bad things can happen when a child is left with someone else. My heart skipped a beat when I fel
"Oh my gosh!" she exclaimed in surprise after I dropped the folder on the office table. I looked up at her."If you don't have anything important to report right now, you can leave," I said sternly. I could see her confusion and nervousness on her face as she turned around. "And, next time," I said as she turned around, "don't spread any humor if you don't know what happened; if you don't respect other people, just think of your job; you didn't want to lose your job, did you?"I ignored our age difference. I knew she was older than me and that I should respect her... But why should I respect someone unworthy of it?"I'm sorry, Ma'am. Laura! I'm sorry, I can't do it again," she said. She is now facing my table and constantly bowing her head."Don't apologize to me; I'm not the victim of your gossip.""Ma'am..." she said nervously, and I just smiled at her while making a sarcastic face in front of her so she knows I'm pissed right now."I'm just telling you that you should apologize to
I've been out of work for three years. I did everything I could to make the kids and Eugene happy during those three years. Nothing special has changed in our relationship.I'm not sure if he has feelings for me, but based on his actions and sweet words, it appears that he does. I'm not sure, despite how sweet and gentle he is to me if we don't give a label on our relationship. That's nonsense. Our relationship has been fine for the past few years; we haven't hidden anything from each other, but in the last few days... Eugene's strange and secretive demeanor catches my attention. It appears that something is going on that he does not want me to know about."Ma'am, you're already awake? Oh, you also cook breakfast; I'm sorry I woke up late; I didn't realize you'd wake up early," Perla apologized when she noticed me sitting in front of the dining table."No, it's fine, I just woke up earlier than usual," I say, smiling and averting my gaze as I notice her eyes on me."Sir didn't come h
"Daddy!"When they notice their father, the twins shout in perfect harmony. They've both become energized now that their father has arrived.I didn't look up to him; instead, I let the kids call him while I cleaned the spaghetti sauce splattered on the floor to keep myself occupied so I wouldn't have to talk to him."Hello boys, how's it going? Wow, Jollibee!" he said to the twins as he played with their hands. When he approaches the twins to kiss them on the cheeks, I take a step backward."Mommy gave this to me and Loki, Daddy," Thor tried to explain; he and his twin were not very good at speaking in long sentences, but they tried very hard when they did."Oh wow, did you say thank you?" he asked, wiping Loki's cheeks with the remaining sauce."Did we?" Loki asks, his face serious. I couldn't help but smile as I watched Loki's bemused expression when he asked Thor for help. Eventually, they don't remember anything and suddenly stand up."Awe!" I uttered in joy as they wrapped their
When I walked out of the room, I noticed him standing outside, and when he looked at me, his eyes were drawn to my hand. I was carrying two large bags containing my belongings. Before he sat on the sofa, I heard him click his tongue and stare at the luggage I was carrying."So you're leaving," he said coldly, shrugging his shoulders."Well, it's been years; just close the door when you leave," he said sternly, it's like he's talking to a total stranger. Is it because he doesn't care about the years we've spent together that he can tell me to leave like nothing? That's so cruel of him.I took a big step away from him, tightening my grip on my bag. I went straight to the twins' room and quietly entered to say my goodbyes. But when I finally saw them, I dropped my bags as soon as I shut the door.I approached the bed slowly and noticed them sleeping in each other's arms. When I began sobbing, I covered my mouth to avoid making any noise. Looking at their faces made my lips quiver. When t
"I can't bear leaving the kids in your care right now while seeing you act like this. I know I don't have the right to take the children away from you and bring them with me, but I'm begging you... just for the sake of the twins and the promise I made to Gail that I would take care of them, please have mercy and allow me to take them with me." I utter while kneeling on the floor.I can't afford to leave the twins in his care. How can I sleep peacefully knowing he'll neglect the twins and go to his woman? How can I think clearly when I know that every time I think of them, I imagine them seeing things that are inappropriate for their age?I don't want Thor and Loki to grow up seeing their Father do bad things in front of them. I don't want them to grow up resentful of their Father. I'm afraid the twins will grow up seeing their father do bad things and assuming it's right, so they will do the same in the future. "Please, they need me." They need someone to guide them; they are young,
The twins immediately fell asleep when we arrived because they were both strained. I walked quietly out of their room and collapsed onto the sofa, exhausted. It would be difficult for the twins if we continued our journey to Siargao. I'm planning a trip to Siargao to see one of my properties. We don't have to flee the country to avoid Eugene. All that remains is for us to take a step back."That childish man..." I murmured as I stared out the glass window. I can see a lot of lights coming from various cars. It's a stunning view... enough scenery to refresh my mind and heartI honestly don't intend to leave Eugene for long. I'm not that bad to take his children away from him. I wouldn't abandon Eugene, just as I promised Gail. And I also know that I can't afford to be apart from him. He is one of the most important people in my life; he is like my own family, so I doubt I can be away from him for too long. Besides, the children need the presence of their father.I'm not sure why I'm su
