Chapter Eighty-eight

The first thing I notice when I open my eyes is the setting sun through the glass window. The sky has already turned gold, and everything around me is silent. Eugene's face appeared when I turned to the other side of the bed. He's still sound asleep next to me. While watching him sleep, I swallowed hard. I quickly closed my eyes and turned away from him when I felt the sudden flow of tears. I clenched my teeth to prevent myself from making any noise as I sobbed.

I remember everything. I clearly remember every detail. It's all coming back to me now... the agony of losing a precious life... I remembered everything. I kept shouting in my head while my entire body trembled from crying so hard. All of the pain I felt during those times and days returned one by one. All of the pain that my brain chose to forget is now piercing my brain and my heart. It hurts.
