05. A Date With Kendall

"Damn, Kendall! You can't just make unnecessary actions! The target might notice us." The guy gritted his teeth in outrage as he puffed his cigarette and diverted his eyes, he couldn't grasp himself anymore, he hated it when she abruptly took action without him knowing. He feels like he is being shut out, he thought that she doesn't need him at all because she was keeping her agenda all by herself.

"What? I didn't strike him. I am just trying to distract him." She answered, almost whispering. He didn't respond and stared at their prey instead.

They are inside a huge building—Eovi Hotel. It is known as one of the prominent refugees run by one of the influential people and they are located on the 9th floor, room 117. They purposely chose the room number since they already searched the area secretly and found it very calming because it has vast windows which would let them have easy access to their victim in the opposite building.

The compartment is wide, there is a king-sized bed near the walk-in closet, there's a huge bathroom next to the main doorway and the room is gray because of the thick curtains with combined colors of white and maroon which coat the large windows. They had left their breakfast on the small circled furniture near the balcony and decided to do their business, they are now trying to take down their target. This is their last task and they are excited to finish it right away, being hired to kill someone is not that simple at all, you would be confronting death somehow.

"He's not like your previous targets, Von. Mr. Colson was one of the tremendous Mafia Boss in our place. Hase won't appoint me to assist you if you can simply kill him effortlessly in an instant." He uttered as he readied the loaded revolvers. He took it one by one out of his bag and passed one to her.

They have existed here for a while, it's already noon and they haven't had lunch yet because they are still scheming things to do. They need to plan it to make sure they won't fall flat, knowing their victim as a Mafia Boss, they are in threat.

"Lucas wants him dead, and I think this is a perfect time to kill his rival."

"Stop pouting, Von. You're tempting me to kiss you, just tell me the details about this man, what's his background?" She slightly glared at his companion but she couldn't take it, she accidentally slipped her heart a bit as she tried to stop herself from smiling.

It's not that she relishes this man but she's somehow fascinated with his presence and she won't concede it.

"I didn't do anything, Hugh. Just shut your mouth and focus on the job." She hissed and put up with her phone and clicked the memo to simply review the target's profile.

"Our prey was positioned as the sixth leader of the Redrum Organization. He's the holder of McQuiston Corporation since he bought the company after winning over the Riveras, he's good at dealing with guns and you're right, he was a mafia." She paused and gazed at her partner and saw him looking back at her.

"He's intending to take over the West Kaust Museum after the stealing occurrence and he's in his 30's. He lost his wife for an unidentified reason and he only had his daughter with him." She continued.

Kendall Von correctly reviewed the profile and she was stunned upon reading the last paragraph. "... Wait, his daughter disappeared and he's been searching for her. Uh, he has a lot of information on his background. We can't seize him down smoothly, unless-" Hugh Turner cut her words as he quickly pulled her down which made her kneeled on the floor. She returned her phone in the pocket after scanning the old man's background and flinching upon the stingy pain.

"Ouch, can you make it simple? Come on, you're too harsh on me." She groaned in discomfort after her knees slammed the tiled floor.

"Position yourself, Von. We'll be starting to snipe him over."

Hugh Turner tries to scope the target using his sniper. She then started up to lower herself to the window and sight the victim. They can't waste any more time on this, their superior wants to end him already.

It also costs a lot of money so they have to do it appropriately, they'll be dead if their assignment won't be triumphant. Their superior is a rigorous person, they won't get away from him, and even if they are his favorites, they can't change his mind, he will however kill them.

They were very eager about this job. The warmth, the fascination to kill, it can be seen in their raging gazes. Who wouldn't be pleased when they finished it? Gigantic cash awaits them, and after this, they will be having a tight vacation time, possibly for a week? Or months.

They laid their fingers to the lever of their guns, inclined to fire on the target. As they counted to one, they pulled the trigger in agreement. Cruel grins were then brought out on their edges as they shot the prey right on its skull. The two bullets linked and ratified over the wide street before they whacked the man's head.

The lady took a deep sigh before shutting her eyes as she started to feel a bit proud of herself. Who would have guessed that they could take him down effortlessly? Mr. Colson is a very important person and he has many lookouts with him. Seeing him ahead just made them startled and fastened their mouths out of surprise.

Her brows met when she heard him chuckled. She glanced at him only to find out that he's staring at her deeply. Mesmerizing her beauty in a close-up look. He knows that they've done it very well, he's just admiring her for being a cool badass.

"Quit eyeing on me, Turner." She's starting to feel dull as she speaks. He smiled at her and placed his eye on the guns on the base. He settled it back inside the backpack and made sure no traces were left in the area. Kendall Von took off her gloves and wrapped her hair.

Even if they have assassinated the target, they still need to rinse the entire area of the room they are staying in. Tomorrow night they will book out since it would be very suspicious if they flee instantly. They got into the hotel early in the morning, the same day. They were carrying heavy bags-the two handbags they were taking were empty while one was full of firearms.

"Let's get back to the mansion. I'm a bit hungry, I want to-" her words were cut off when he spoke. She stared at her assistant and got confused when she felt her heart beating so fast as if she was chased by mares.

"Let's have lunch together, Hase won't be looking for us, he will make a way to reason out to the superiors. Come with me, I'll treat you." He said and revealed a pleasant grin. She then rolled her eyes and crossed her arms in front of him. Even if she likes the thought of being with him, she can't nod at him and go with the lunch treat, it would be very evident.

She frowned and looked at her companion, Hugh Turner. "Is that a date? I'm telling you, babe. You won't have a chance." She directly said to the point which made him smile more. She looked so disgusted and irritated, but he remained in a playful mood. He likes to tease her around, whenever she tries to push him away, he always thinks that maybe she's playing hard to get.

"This is already a date, darling. I always enjoy having a moment with you." He teasingly said which made Kendall blush because of embarrassment.

'Asshole.' she thought.

"I'm just kidding, come on, I'm inviting you for lunch. What's wrong with that?" Hugh asked, with his mischievous grin.

Kendall averted her eyes from him and pretended that she was trying to look down on her shoelaces, Turner noticed that and so his grin widened.

'She's playing hard-to-get, nice.' he thought.

"You're just trying to get me... stop behaving so sweet just to earn my trust. Because I'm warning you, I won't let you break my heart in an instant." She warned and walked out of the room. Leaving him dumbfounded.
