Chapter 7: The Clearing.

Within ten minutes, as I'd told Jo, I reached the clearing.

When she said she wanted to talk to me, her voice was tense.

I wonder what she wanted to tell me.

When I was waiting for Jo, I stared around the clearing, and I was flooded with memories of when we first discovered it.

Flashback

Sunlight poured down from the sky. The weather was warm and pleasant.

Jo and I snuck out into the woods one afternoon to take our wolves for a run.

Although we were cautious, we didn't want anyone to see us.

When we shifted into our wolves, our white fur shimmered under the sunlight.

My eyes glazed over when I saw Jenna, Jo's wolf.

Her fur was pristine white, and her eyes were brilliant ocean blue.

My wolf Alice and Jenna, were pretty similar in appearance, except that Alice had forest green eyes.
