PART II: Chapter 46

Damien and Kira have been avoiding each other ever since what happened the last time. While Damien was only avoiding her because he had refused to accept the fact that he had feelings for her, Kira was avoiding him for several reasons and the biggest reason was because, she felt embarrassed by the fact that he had ran off to his actual lover the next day after what had happened between them, making her feel like a complete moron.

"I honestly don't understand any of you at this point and I'm starting to think you're all taking this situation very lightly which shouldn't be the case at all. As far as I'm concerned, we're all gonna die one day, so how about we just go for it without overthinking so much?" Sebastian hissed.

Layla clicked her tongue in frustration.

"Do you have any idea how frustrating you are Sebastian? It's funny how much you talk about this but one thing you're in and the next minute, you're contemplating on whether or not we should go all out or just not go to war. Do you have any intention of standing at the front line or are you going to keep being noisy?" Layla asked, completely sick and tired of dealing with Sebastian and his constant complaining.

"I...," Sebastian was about to fire but Kira had heard enough.

She slammed her hand on the table.

"Enough of this you two!" she raised her voice.

"How long is this back and forth going to continue? Is this how we're supposed to get a solution to all this? Aren't you two completely sick and tired of just arguing and disagreeing every two minutes? Listen you two, I am sick and tired of the both of you having different opinions and not being able to agree on anything and to keep the peace, I'd rather you both just keep your opinions to yourself so that we can finally make progress, is that clear?" Kira instructed and both Layla and Sebastian simply now their heads in embarrassment.

"Regarding a plan, I'll think of something and get back to you when my thoughts are finally settled on a good enough solution. I expect your obedience and cooperation when that time comes and I also expect no arguments or disagreements. You're all dismissed," she added and judging by her tone, it was obvious that she was pissed and as soon as she finished speaking, she walked out of the room with a deep frown plastered on her face.

Both Damien and Draco looked back at each other with a knowing look on their faces. It was the first time they had ever seen Kira react this way and they could tell that she was most definitely in a very bad mood and that it wouldn't be the best time to approach her at all.

Nathaniel used the back of his palm to hit Sheila right across her face.

"You ungrateful, useless bitch!" he spat out furiously.

"You...," he pointed his index finger at her, staring at her with so much anger and frustration that made him feel like he could end up killing her any second from now.

"You have been nothing but a disgrace to us, do you know that? You have done nothing else but fail and fail and fail even more with every chance you're given and you actually expect me to keep forgiving you and giving you even more chances to embarrass our family name? Have you no shame Sheila? Don't you feel guilty about ruining the hard work of our grandmother? Have you forgotten that this is her dying wish? You know what's even more appalling? It's the fact that I didn't even give you anything too difficult and yet, you can't even do anything right and you're supposed to be the special one? As useless as you are?" he questioned rhetorically as his voice echoed the entire room.

"I'm so sorry big brother," Sheila cried, feeling both embarrassed and ashamed of the fact that she hasn't stopped failing to impress her brother.

"I'm really sorry big brother. I know I've been disappointing you and I have no one else to blame but myself but I promise you big brother, I'll make sure I redeem myself no matter what. I assure you that...," she stuttered in fear but Nathaniel's thunderous voice cut her off.

"Shut the fuck up Sheila and enough of that bullshit! You have been promising to redeem yourself for weeks now and instead of doing just that, you either get yourself almost exposed or you end up costing the life of one person. Now tell me Sheila, is that what you call redeeming yourself? Is that really how you plan to redeem yourself?" he asked through gritted teeth as he grabbed her on her jaw very tightly, squeezing them like he was about to break her face.

She cried in pain. "Please...please forgive me Nathaniel," she pleaded in obvious pain but  Nathaniel could care less about the pain she was in. He was simply furious with her and wanted nothing more than to inflict pain on her for costing them severely.

"You know what Sheila, I think it's high time you just stop it!" he snapped as he pushed her hard on the floor.

"I am very sick and tired of dealing with you and having to clean up every fucking mess that you make. It's actually starting to really choke me Sheila and I honestly can't take it anymore. You know why I kept you around for so long and dealt with you instead of just letting you go? It's cause I thought that maybe, just maybe, I'll eventually get to see why you were called the gifted one or rather, the special but so far, so good, the only thing you've been to me is useless Sheila, absolutely useless," Nathaniel told her angrily, wearing a tired and a frustrated look on his face.

Sheila rushed to her brother's side and held on to his legs desperately.

"Please big brother, please give me another chance, I pr...," Nathaniel pulled his legs from her grip but she hurried to hold on to them again.

"Just let go of my leg you crazy girl!" Nathaniel yelled angrily, kicking her hands away with his other leg.

Sheila groaned in pain.

"Listen carefully to me Sheila, don't you dare make me any angrier than I already am with you and don't fucking irritate me. Just stay as far away from me as you can for the time being and also, tell Dante to report to me as soon as possible. It may seem as though the Redmoon pack is more prepared for us than the Silvermoon pack which means that we need to get rid of that crazy Alpha as soon as we can. She is more of a problem than Damien is and something about her gives me a very bad feeling," Nathaniel complained.

"Big brother," Arlan, Nathaniel's immediate younger brother called out.

"What is it, Arlan?" Nathaniel hissed in irritation as he didn't like to be interrupted suddenly.

He immediately recalled that he had given them an order to find a missing member as soon as possible. It's been days since Gaius went missing and they had absolutely no information about his whereabouts just yet.

"Gaius is gone brother, he's gone for good," Arlan informed Nathaniel.

Nathaniel clenched his teeth as he kicked his leg in the air. "Fuck! I knew that woman Kira was going to be a problem for us and for this reason, we'll have to take care of her first before she becomes an even bigger problem for us. Did they get any information from Gaius?" Nathaniel asked.

"Not at all. Dante said that Gauis preferred the option of death instead of telling them anything about us but it seems they already know we are not friends with the sun because they had kicked him out to the sun and they made him burn into ashes," Arlan informed.

Sheila gasped.

"Well, isn't that just interesting? It may seem as though our favourite victims are finally drawing the battle and what could be more interesting than watching them all die whilst trying hard to get rid of us?" Nathaniel said with a dark chuckle before turning to face Sheila.

"By the way Sheila, isn't it time you stopped living as just a werewolf? You should start getting ready to become exactly like us cause you can't be useless forever," Nathaniel stated impatiently.

Sheila's eyes widened in shock. She has always been of the belief that she was their trump card and their main access to the werewolves and now, all of a sudden, he wants her to stop being a part of them?

"We can't do that just yet brother," Arlan quickly said to Nathaniel.

"If Sheila dies now and becomes a vampire, she won't be able to walk in the sun like she can now and if that happens, her cover would be blown and she'll be in danger. I get that her relationship with Damien might not be at its best but I'm pretty sure he still cares about her to an extent and I doubt it'll be right to put her out there so soon," Arlan added.

"I know all that Arlan but she's just useless at this point! I've been cleaning up her messes for weeks now and it's even getting worse. I honestly don't see any reason to keep protecting her identity when she's not even doing anything for us," Nathaniel complained bitterly, genuinely frustrated with the fact that Sheila was being nothing but a burden at that point.

He knew she was his sister and he could not possibly abandon her but, he also knew that it was about time she started to fight for her own safety instead of staying under his protection.

Sheila was the step sister to Nathaniel, Arlan and Arkansas. Unlike her step siblings, Sheila was not a vampire just yet and this is because her father is a werewolf, which makes her one too and her mother is a vampire.

Right from when she was a child, her brothers have always protected her and made sure to give her everything she wanted as their mother constantly reminded them of her vital role in their plan and for this reason, Nathaniel had sacrificed lives just to make sure his sister was safe.

Now, he was no longer certain if he should keep on protecting her at the expense of losing more people or if he should finally let her out there so she could also learn how to protect herself and stop hiding behind the men in her life.
