CHAPTER THIRTY TWO

~KAHLAN AND CARLY~

Carly repeatedly knocked on Kahlan’s door. It's days like this that she wished she still had a key to Kahlan’s home. By the time she answered Carly’s knuckles hurt slightly from all the pounding.  

“Carly, what do you want?” Kahlan swung the door open with such force. The young woman was wrapped in a towel and dripping wet. Carly must have disturbed her swimming. 

Oh, don’t be a grouch,” Carly replied, taking in the redness of her friend's eyes. Could that be from the chlorine, could she not have gotten a good night's rest, or had she been crying? “I need to talk to you.” Carly stares waiting for Kahlan to let her in. Kahlan took a deep breath.
