Good morning Ivy,” mom entered the room. She stopped in her tracks. She sniffed the room and looked at me.

“ did you open the window?” I shook my head.

“ that is why it smells funky in here_” she dashed towards the window and opened it.

“ Ivy, darling_” she sighed and walked towards the bed.

“ I have seen some changes in you that are alarming. “ she looked at the bed than at me.

“ Can I sit?” she asked. I nodded my head.

“ What is wrong with you these days, your eyes are always bloodshot and your mood is just changing. I might not be your biological mother but I was there for you, I raised you kike my dear, with my own hands! I know when you are not yourself” she said. I studied her profile.

“ Nothing is the wrong mother, I am fine” she flinched and Scooted far from me.

“ Even your voice! “ she whispered.

“ you sound like a man” I rolled my eyes.

“ I have to go,” she said as she dashed lit of the room.

I felt normal. Nothing had changed apart from the sorrow I had.
