Alexia's POV

My 'family' were at that party while I was on my way there, after taking care of something which came up at the last moment.

I pulled my car over in front of the mansion, taking a glance outside to see tons of people waiting for me to step out, eagerness and excitement clear on their faces.

I stepped out of the car reluctantly. I wanted to go back home, lie on my bed and watch movies or something like that. Honestly, I wanted to be anywhere than at that party. But I had no choice, knowing my father, he'd most likely get angry if he wouldn't see me at that stupid party.

I slammed my car door shut, letting out a loud annoyed sigh.

"You don't look like you want to be here," an unfamiliar voice commented making me turn around to see Ares Salvatore standing there, looking as stunning as ever. I've heard that he was extremely good looking and hot-turns out it was true. The guy really was the most handsome man I've ever seen.

"Ares Salvatore." I greeted with an emotionless face. I had deep admiration for the Italian Mafia boss not that I was going to admit it out loud.

"Alexia Ivanov. A real beauty indeed." Ares said with a smirk as he shamelessly eyed me from top to bottom and I did the same to him.

"I've heard this countless times, Salvatore," I replied coldly, "I see you are late too."

"Not at all. The others were just early." Ares said, shrugging nonchalantly.

"Bloody paparazzis." I mumbled as my eyes fell on all the paparazzi who were waiting for us to walk so that they could snap good pictures.

"Shall we?" Ares questioned, his eyes fixed on the paparazzis.

I nodded in response as we began walking towards the entrance. I held my head high, despite not wanting for these people to take my pictures. Glancing at Ares who was walking beside me, our footsteps matching, I saw that he was doing the same.

"I thought the great mafia king didn't like to come in these type of events." I said from what I've heard.

"People change," Ares replied simply, "What is the cold blooded assassin doing here?"

"My father."

"Still daddy's girl, I see." He mocked, "I thought that you were an independent woman, an assassin who doesn't take but give orders."

"Well you can't expect me to order the man who contributed in my making." I responded, "besides I am not stupid to disrespect my boss," I spat bitterly.

"You've got a point there." Ares said, "isn't it time for him to resign yet? He's like seventy, no?" I fought the urge to laugh at what he said before correcting, "He's fifty. I don't think he'll resign for another thirty years." We both stopped when we entered the hall.

"See you around, il mio adorabile assassina." Ares said with a smirk.

(My lovely killer/assassin)

"That's a hell of a way to call a cold blooded assassin." I scoffed, my eyes darting around the place, looking for my father, ignoring all the eyes on me.

"I'll call you however I want, bella." Ares spoke up with a smirk which I wanted to wipe from his face despite how annoyingly sexy it made him look.

"It's not even been a second, we are already the center of the attention." I mumbled which caused Ares to chuckle. I hated being the center of the attention but I couldn't help it.

"That's probably because we're the only ones on time." He said which made me scoff but played along nonetheless, "It is not our fault if they came early."

Ares hummed in response, "Definitely not."

I shot them a glare making them advert their eyes. While everyone else thought that this charity event for the famous CEOs, models and all, it was actually for the people involved in illegal activities. Everybody knew everybody and what their roles were. So, they all knew who I was or who Ares was.

"Alexia Ivanov. A real honour it is." An old man said as he approached me with a woman clutching to his arms and followed by a boy and a girl.

The girl's eyes fell on me and they widened slightly making me furrow my brows in confusion. However, my confusion was turned into amusement when she lightly pushed who I assumed were her parents out of her way and approached me. She just stood there and gawked at me.

"My sister," Ares leaned in and whispered to me. He was awkwardly close to me so I could feel his hot breath on my skin. I tried to ignore the tingles it sent me and extended my hand for the girl to shake, "I am-"

She quickly cut me off and placed her hand in mine, shaking them, grinning, "I know who you are! Oh my fucking god-I can't believe I'm meeting you. I'm a huge fan!"

"I am Alexia Ivanov. It is nice to meet you, Anastasia Mel Salvatore." I finished the sentence I was about to say before she cut me.off. If there was one thing that I hated then it was when someone would cut me off. I found that incredibly rude.

"You...you know my name!" Her tone was filled with excitement.

"Of course I do." I replied which made her smile.

"You can call me Ana!" She said happily to which I nodded, "will do."

"I am Austin Salvatore. But, you already know who I am, don't you?" Austin asked with a smirk. What's it with these Salvatores and smirking? No, seriously, was it a disease that ran in the family or something?

"Yes, I do." I replied with a nod, "I've heard a lot of things about you, you know? The mafia's very own glutton. Are you familiar with the term?"

Both Ares and Ana let out a laugh but covered it with a cough instantly which didn't go unnoticed by me. Anyway, what I said about Austin was true. He was referred as that by many.

"Yeah, but w-why are you calling me glutton?" Austin asked with a frown.

"All the pictures I've seen for you, you are either eating the food or holding it-which made me as well as many other people conclude that you are an insane food lover and hence the nickname." I explained, biting back a smile at Austin's expression.

"The cold blooded assassin." The older woman mumbled under her breath. I glanced at her then t Ares, immediately noticing the similarities. She was definitely his mother; Mirabella Salvatore. She approached me with a smile plastered on her face, "You are a very beautiful girl, Alexia. I don't know what made you what you are today but I'm sure that you weren't always like this, dear."

The fuck?

"Yeah? And What do you know?" I asked, staring at Mirabella with a sudden cold look. When she didn't reply, I continued, "That's what I thought. Now if you'll excuse me, I need to find my dad." I then walked away without sparing them another look. I might have been a bit rude but she asked for it.
