The Salvatore Mansion was extremely huge and beautiful.

Inside was even more beautiful than outside. The house was luxurious and beautifully decorated, not to mention very clean also. We were led in the living room where everybody sat down.

I took a seat on the only available couch which was big enough for two. I glanced at Ares who was standing. His eyes met mine and he smirked before making his way towards me and took a seat next to me.

"So, what did you want to tell us?" Edward asked, leaning comfortably on the couch.

"We have been facing problems lately. Mostly, with the French and the Mexicans. I think that they've formed an alliance." Dad's voice was serious and emotionless. It was always like that when he'd speak business.

"They are not allies. We would've known if they are." Edward said, almost sure of himself which made my dad let out a humourless laugh.

"You think they would come to your door and tell you that they are now allies?" He mocked, "could you be more stupid, Edward?"

"Get straight to the point, Ivanov." Ares spoke in a cold voice, not liking the way my dad was speaking to Edward.

"I want us become allies," dad said, clenching his jaw. He clearly didn't like the way Ares spoke to him but he knew he couldn't do anything. "If the Mexicans and the French have joined hands then they're going to come after us." He said, getting straight to the point.

"We don't know if they are allies and why us?" He asked as he casually placed a hand on my thighs making me inhale sharply at the contact. There was just something about his touch which made me feel what people call ‘butterflies’. It was weird considering I've never felt that before.

"You're the first and I'm the second. We're technically the strongest. If we join hands, they wouldn't even think of coming after us." Dad said seriously, snapping me back from my thoughts.

"What do you think about this, Ares?" Edward asked Ares who stayed silent.

I really hoped that Ares would refuse but—

"Fine," Ares agreed which made my dad grin. I let out a sigh which didn't go unnoticed by Ares since he started rubbing soothing circles on my skin with his thumb as if he was letting me know that he knew what he was doing by agreeing.

"We need to befriend Gabriel's son." Dad said, "I heard that his son is stupid and he gives out information quite easily but only to those he trusts."

"We can force the information out of him." Ares suggested to which I hummed in agreement.

"He's only seventeen," Dad sighed, "If we kidnap Thierry now, Gabriel will declare war within seconds."

"So what are you planning to do?" I knitted my brows as I stared at my father in curiosity.

"You guys are going to befriend him." Edward replied making me advert my eyes from my father to him.

"What do you mean by ‘you guys’?" I questioned to which he replied, "you and Ares."

"Me and him?"

"Me and her?"

"Yes! you and you." Austin said, pointing to me then to Ares with a smirk on his face.

"Why us?" Ares asked. They could send other men or whatever but why us?

"Because you two are perfect for this. You'll be going as two students. I've already enrolled you two in the college. You—" dad said, pointing to Ares who stared at him, "You'll be going as Jason Blackmore. And you, Alexia, you'll be Diana Cooper."

"Befriend Gabriel's son, Thierry and get him to spill the beans. It's as simple as that." Edward added with a smile.

"But why us? Austin and Ana would do the job perfectly." Ares said.

"Ana and Austin—well I do not believe they'll do it well. I mean, you two will know how to defend yourselves if things go wrong. Besides, I want you two. Is that a problem?" Dad gave me a look saying, ‘question me again and see what happens’. When I stayed quiet, I could tell that he fought a smirk, "you two are perfect for this job! By the way, Jason is the cool guy and Diana well, she is the nerd."

"So, I'll be going undercover as a nerd?" I raised my brows.

"Sorry but yes. That's the only girl who was supposed to be in the same Grade as Thierry, and she was gonna start this year." Dad replied with a fake apologetic tone.

"When do we start?"

"Tomorrow." Edward replied.

After that, goodbyes were exchanged and we left the Salvatore mansion.

**

It had been an hour since I returned from the Salvatore mansion and I couldn't stop thinking about the so called mission.

Not only did I have to go to school again but I had to go with Ares and I had to befriend the enemy's son to make him spill the beans.

Anyway, that should be—easy right?

The Next Day

We were all sitting at the table, having breakfast quietly when dad broke the silence, "Alexia, you're going to take the car and go straight to the school. You have to go everyday until you succeed in the mission."

"I know."

"Good luck. And do not kill anyone there alright?" He asked to which I nodded, "I won't. But—I can't promise."

"Don't bring your gun with you." He said in a strict tone making me roll my eyes, "I'm not stupid. I haven't brought my gun."

"Daddy, I'll be going out with Ethan today." Dana spoke up, "I'll return pretty late."

"How about you don't return at all?" I asked as she stood up, done with my breakfast.

"Bit—" Dana cut herself off, clearly not wanting a repeat of last time. The last time she called me a ‘bitch’ she ended up with a wardrobe on fire since I couldn't hurt her physically— orders from my father.

"Alexia," dad spoke making me raise my brows at him, "What?"

He was looking down at my outfit while I stood there, waiting for him finish staring so that he can ‘criticize’ or give his disapproval to my outfit. I was wearing a shirt along with my leather jacket with jeans and combat boots.

"You look badass," he grunted, "you shouldn't look that way. Go, change."

"Do I really need to change?" I sighed.

"Yes, you do." He nodded, "now go and wear something more nerdy—wear glasses as well. You should make yourself look unrecognisable."

"For fuck's sake," I muttered before going to my room to change. I wore a plain shirt and jeans along with my sneakers and of course, a pair of glasses. Then I left for school.

Surprisingly, both me and Ares arrived at the same time. Ares arrived in a fancy car while I took a cheap car as Diana Cooper wasn't someone rich.

"From assassin to nerd." Ares mocked as he stared at me from top to bottom.

"From mafia king to student." I retorted, ignoring the fact that he was looking hot as hell.

He wore a leather jacket with chains and had a lot of necklaces as well as rings to give those bad boy vibes.

We walked inside and as soon as we did, all eyes were on us. I glanced at some girls who were standing in a corner and staring at Ares as if he was a celebrity or something.

"See you in class." Ares whispered before walking away.

"Hey boy, what's your name? You're so handsome. I'm Iris." A girl who had blonde hairs and was wearing pink said to Ares, trailing her fingers on his arms making me bite the insides of my cheeks for I don't know what reason.

"Jason Blackmore, sweetheart." Ares introduced himself using his fake name with a smirk tugging at his lips.

"You're hot Jasy." Iris said with a seductive smirk as she pointed to her friends who were behind her, "Meet my friends, Chloe and Ginny. We're like the—most popular girls here. You see, I'm the richest girl in the school so—"

She cut herself when her eyes fell on me. I was standing in the doorway with my glasses on and my books in my hands. She wasn't so far from me which is why I could hear the words coming from her dirty mouth.  I almost snorted at her last words.

Iris snapped her fingers at Chloe and Ginny then the three started walking towards me making me internally cringe.

Creepy.

"You're new aren't you?" Iris asked as she stared at me in disgust.

"Do I need to lend you my glasses or can you buy one for yourself?" I snapped which made her eyes widened probably because nobody had the balls to speak to her in that way before.

"How dare you? Bitch, do you know who I am?" She asked, raising her tone which made grabbed the attention of everyone in the hallway.

"Unless you're the principal of this school, don't talk to me." I simply said as I pushed Iris away and fixed my glasses which fell on the bridge of my nose

"I'll fucking ruin you and your whole family!" Iris shouted which made me roll my eyes.

"I'd like to see you try, love." I responded before walking away, not wanting to deal with her shit anymore. I didn't want to kill someone on the first day itself but this girl seemed to be pushing my buttons.
