Chapter 4: All Of You

(Alexandra)

“WON’T YOU regret it, though? If you do that, only the enemies will get to have a taste of me. Darling, aren’t you curious about what I’d taste like?”

The corner of Luther’s mouth moved up a bit. He looked so relaxed and so confident as if he was having the greatest time of his life at the moment. “Trust me. Once you have a taste of me, you wouldn’t dream of tossing me away. I guarantee you would ask for more. You’re going to love me. I mean not to brag but other women would kill for what you have right now.”

“They could kill each other then. That would really benefit me and my clan a lot.”

Luther chuckled as he spun me around the dance floor. “I could almost hear the gears in your head whirring. Relax, darling.”

The devil works fast, but Luther works faster, that’s what I realized during the dance I had with the Alpha. He received a report stating that after the wedding, the humans headquarter had exploded. It was the place which took us quite a while to find. And the Alpha had sent the Beta and some of the wolves to invade it tonight while everyone was still busy because of the wedding.

Unfortunately, when they arrived, the place was already beyond saving. And the last person who came out of the headquarters minutes before the explosion was no other than Tristan, Luther’s righthand man. That was according to Clay, the Beta who arrived in the area first and was waiting for the back-up when the explosion happened.

But based on the noises I’d heard around, even the Governor was surprised by the explosion. And it seemed genuine judging by the sound of his heartbeat and how his face had lost its color which only meant that his beloved son acted on his own. In fact, his father was looking at Luther right now while the rest of the humans were all screaming and cursing me with their eyes, I just know it.

Yet, Luther didn’t seem to give a damn. Where is his confidence coming from? What kind of secret weapon is he wielding?

But if he thought I’d be swayed by what he did to their headquarters, he was wrong. He must have pulled that off hoping to win the pack’s trust. If he could betray even his own father, that just proved how dangerous and deceitful he is. And he could do that to a bunch of people, too. I wonder who will he betray next?

“You’re staring quite a lot, darling. Why? Are you now tempted to have a taste?” Luther asked as he pulled me closer to his chiseled body. Once again, his hand roamed up and down my exposed back. I shivered when I felt what seemed like an electric current that traveled from my back to different parts of my body. I took a rough breath when I felt the strange sensation even between my legs. And if only we weren’t being watched, I would have smashed his face already.

Too bad, I can’t do that, not yet at least. I must hold back. I have to keep his face and bones intact until I get what I want from him.

“Just say the magic word and we could leave right this very minute,” he added in a teasing voice.

“Don’t pretend like you don’t know what’s going on. What scheme are you cooking up, Lucifer?”

I know I needed to gain his trust but if I play the role of a good wife too soon, he won’t buy it. He was way too sharp for that. In the following days or weeks, I may have to act like he’s slowly winning me over. This mission will take time, but it doesn’t matter. That was the beauty of revenge. We don’t mind the waiting part. We had waited for years. We could wait for some more just to make sure that we’ll get even this time around.

“It’s Luther, darling. Did you really forget or you're doing this on purpose to rile me up? How cute.”

“I knew it. 'Lucifer' really suit you better.”

He clicked his tongue. “If only your manners had matched your face, I’d have been the luckiest groom in the world.”

“Spare me that crap. Your mother’s been spreading rumors that there is a woman you’ve been in love with for quite some time now. And you were supposed to marry her. But because of this alliance, you were forced to end things with her. Was the explosion your way of avenging your first love?”

Luther chuckled. “Love? Oh, please. It’s 2022 and you still believe in that stuff?”

So, I was right not to believe Mrs. Molly who was still busy spinning a sad tale to gather more sympathy. But what I found more entertaining was the fact that the guests still bought that story when Luther looked like he’d believe in aliens more than ‘love’ and ‘marriage’. Even now, I could still hear Mrs. Molly spewing big, fat lies while eating with the guests.

Well, I hope they all get indigestion.

“Then what was the explosion about?”

“It’s about you.”

He didn't deny that he was behind it. I narrowed my eyes. “What game are you playing?”

“For now, just know that I play to win. But if it’s you, who knows? Maybe I’d be generous enough to lose for the first time in my life.”

Talking to Luther was a game itself. You have to guess which was the lie and which was the truth.

When the song was over, he was about to release me. But this time, I was the one who pulled him near me when I held his collar. Our faces were so close now that we could smell each other’s breath. I could smell the wine from his mouth which I found strangely intoxicating and yet, I went on. I pressed my breasts against his chest. And when I saw how his jaw clenched, I smiled and licked the bitemark in his neck.

When he froze, my eyes glistened. So, it wasn’t just me. Luther could feel it, too. Just like me, his body burns and shivers to my touch. When our eyes locked, my stomach tightened when his eyes darkened as he stared at my lips.

“If what you said was true, then tell me. What will it take for you to lose this game?”

“You, darling. All of you.”
