14~ Under the moonlight

Amelia was deeply immersed in her thoughts when she heard a low chuckle coming from Ethan followed by his husky voice.

“Chill, don’t be nervous. I won’t eat you….” He trailed, then suggested, “unless you ask me to.”

“I – I’m not nervous,” Amelia denied, hoping Ethan couldn’t hear the loud thumping of her heart. “I just don’t trust myself not to jump on you.”

A short silence ensued and Amelia coughed awkwardly, she peered at Ethan’s face and noticed that he had cocked his eyebrows as if amused so she spoke quickly before he could respond to her statement. “Let’s hurry... I’m starving.”

That seemed to distract Ethan and he quickly beckoned for Amelia to follow as he turned into another path, picking up his pace.
