Lincoln is horrified when Halsey collapses on the stage and is about to rush to her when he stops in his tracks. To his surprise, someone else runs to her. A masked man stoops down and carries her away in his arms. He glowers in anger and surprise. Who’s that man and why is he taking Halsey away? Everyone around him snicker at the girl. “What an idiot!” The sultry actress by Lincoln’s side sneers. Nathan is waiting in study, idly going through the information Hal sent to him. He scrolls through the map of the casino. There are no hidden places as far as he can guess but the map might be wrong.“Where are they conducting this?” He mutters. Trent and Gerald will be accompanying him to the casino albeit in secret. He needs Trent in order to hack into the security system and gain more information about the hidden place where the drug trade is taking place. Nathan puts his phone away and glances at a red box next to him. It’s wrapped with a satin ribbon, carefully gift wrapped. He sighs loudly. It’s nearly 7 PM and Halsey isn’t here yet. “Woah!” Halsey’s eyes widen in awe. They’ve arrived at the Checkmate Casino, one of the largest casinos in the country. It’s situated only an hour away from Bayers’ Coast but Halsey has never been to the place. The luxuriant casino has a red and gold theme with the touch of Indian architecture. The building is shaped like a miniature Taj Mahal only with dark jade marbles. Several pillars are placed within the building, sturdy and smooth while the carpets are deep scarlet. There’s a large throne in the middle of the room which is reminiscent of the infamous Peacock Throne which Halsey has only read about in the books. Even the names of the different sections are named after Indian Mughal rulers.“Akbar Hall,” she reads with difficulty. “Mumtaz Mahal? The owner has a rich taste.”“A little too rich,” Nathan remarks. Trent is in the car with Gerald. His laptop is lying open in front of him and he inputs several codes in it, hacking the casino’s security. “This is weird,” he mutters. “What’s weird?” Gerald demands. “There’s certainly an incoherency in the map,” Trent informs him. “Look at the screen. I can see there’s movement in the public areas of the casino because there’s a party going on. But I can also see that there’s an extension of the building which is rooted deep underground.
