Elijah:

I stood in front of the house where I knew that my malyshka’s father lived, debating on whether or not to enter the place.

I knew that it took her everything to tell me about what he told her yesterday, but seeing her as weak as she was didn’t seem to escape my mind as I thought of the pain that she’s been living through. I didn’t know why the man left his daughter to struggle like he has and why he was refusing to take her back, but whatever his reason was; I didn’t like it, and needless to say; I couldn’t accept it.
