Side story 01

The prince returned to the empire to receive his crown, and be hailed as the next in line for the throne. The ceremony took place at the Imperial Palace’s Vinziel’s mansion. The service is conducted by the Pope of the Orthodox Church of Capital. Attended by Nobles, Aristocrats, Royalty, and representatives of the Houses of Parliament.

The first ritual is a homage by the Pope and senior peers as part of sacred communion.  He was also anointed with holy oil and presented and invested with her regalia before being crowned. Then, followed by the placing of the crown and passing of the orb and scepters done by the emperor. Shortly after, the betrothed consort of the crown prince is proclaimed as crown princess, blessed by the empress.

After receiving the orb and scepter, the crowned royalty subscribed an oath to govern the people according to their respective laws and customs. Wearing his regalia, he waved to the thousands of Alandeans who were lucky enough to witness his coronation. Standing next to him was his betrothed Alena. Behind them were the empress, emperor and princess Venice.

The Allandis Royal Family appeared on the Imperial Palace's balcony and greeted the crowd after the coronation of crown prince Vinziel. Then, to mark down the occasion, they hosted a banquet in the garden. They also distributed chicken and two gold coins to each house all around the empire as appreciation to the commoners.

"Congratulations, your highness," Delvir and Denvir, a fraternal twin offspring of Dominic and Princess Elvira, uttered in chorus.

Crown prince Vinziel replied, "The honor is mine, cousins."

Everyone is busy talking with families, trying to strike business ties. There are also foreign attendees, Vinziel and the twins' colleagues from overseas.

"By the way, this is Martin, Drake, Luke, and Desmond— a colleague of ours." Vinziel introduced the boys next to him.

Alena and Venice smiled and extended their hands to handshake the guests while saying, "Greetings, Gentlemen."

"It's an honor to meet the respectable women of this empire. Thank you for having us," Luke replied.

“I believe you’ve met my future brother-in-law in one of our classes,” Vinziel added as he introduced the guy who had recently joined their table.

Aleandro paid respect as soon as he met the lover of his twin sister. Then, he uttered,“Greetings, your highness and these gentlemen.”

“Aleandro of Dwight kingdom, isn’t it?”

Aleandro smiled and introduced his lover as well. Shortly after the exchanged formal greetings, the waltz started. The crown Prince Vinziel and Princess Alena joined hands and occupied the center of the ballroom. Only a few distances away from the star of the banquet, The twins of Lestinna also danced with aristocratic ladies. Meanwhile, the guest found their partner as well. Luke was lucky enough to be invited by the princess of the empire.

"Your majesty, are you sure I am allowed to dance with you? Your brother and father are glaring in our direction," says Crown prince Luke of Valencia empire, an icy empire on the Atlantic continent.

Princess Venice noticed it too, but she just shrugged her shoulders. She replied, "Will you do me the honor to be my pen pal?"

The foreign crown prince was taken aback by the abrupt request of her ladyship.  "I'm afraid it's not appropriate for a twenty-one guy to exchange letters with a lady who still has three years before her coming-of-age," Luke replied, despite being smitten by the grace of the princess.

"Pardon my brazen request. I only want to know you more and perhaps be in touch with you until my coming-of-age."

"I understand, my lady. I'll be sure to keep your voice in my head and reunite with you when the time is proper for us," Luke replied, smiling sweetly at her ladyship.

"I'll wait for you," she replied and kissed the lips of the prince she was dancing with.

The emperor stood, and without hesitation, he yelled, "Princess Venice Sharie Allandis!"

Prince Luke was stupefied, yet managed to hear her ladyship's last statement, "You better remember that lips."

He swallowed a lump in his throat as his eyes followed the princess rushing to the throne until he met the blazing gaze of Emperor Viishaun. "I guess it won't be easy, but what can I do?... I am willing to wait for her," he murmured to himself.

Crown prince Vinziel excused himself from his beloved to approach Crown prince Luke and ask what happened.

On the other hand, the emperor cleared his throat and ordered, "Please resume the celebration." Then, Viishaun squinted his eyes and told her daughter, "Come. Let's talk on the balcony."

The empress massaged the bridge of her nose as she whispered, "What have you done, Venice?"

"Didn't you tell me to be frank and express my thoughts, mother?" Princess Venice replied.

The empress heaved a heavy breath before responding, "I did, but you overdo it a little."

"A little?!" Viishaun overreacted upon eavesdropping on his wife and daughter's conversation.

The two ladies jolted and cleared their throats. Then, Scheriziel clings her arms to his royal highness, trying to calm the emperor.

"This improper lady kissed a guy in the middle of the waltz, yet you called that a little?" says Viishaun, massaging his forehead. "I didn't send you the best etiquette tutor only to do that thing, young lady," he added.

"My love, it's normal for her age. We all had that impulsive trait as we hit teenage life, don't we?" says Scheriziel while eyeing her daughter, wearing a look that says 'Come-on-Apologize-and swear-to-never-do-it-again-look'

However, instead of apologizing and admitting her deeds, the princess reasoned out, "He's handsome and there’s a spark between us. I wish to be betrothed to him once I become a fine lady, father."

Viishaun's eyes almost plucked out in disbelief as he heard her daughter's reply. He turned around and asked his wife, "Have my ear played a trick on me, or this child mentioned a marriage with a pale boy?"

"What's wrong with that? Our daughter is not getting any younger, at least, she found her love interest. It's not like they'll be married after her coming-of-age. Also, I'll never allow it before I get to know her lover first," Scheriziel replied, which made princess Venice beam in hope for the future.

"No way. I'll never allow it. No one is deserving enough to get my daughter's hand for marriage!" Viishaun reiterated his disapproval, wearing a displeased look of an overprotective father, afraid to lose his daughter over some dude out there.
