The morning after

CHAPTER TWENTY

A light ray of sunlight fell across my face, its warmth tingling on my skin. Taking in a deep breath, and then breathing out a second later, I blinked my eyes opened.

I was greeted with the sight of white walls with a cool grey authentic, instead of the bright and definitely feminine colors of my room.

Realizing I wasn’t in my room, I sat up, and instantly, I regretted it. My vision blurred, the earth tilting on its axis. Out of nowhere, my head started pounding. It felt like my skull was being used as a local blacksmith’s stone. “Fuck.” I groaned out.

There was a soft but firm knock on my door, and then it was creaking open. Devon’s face peeked in, and then he was muttering a soft “Hey.”

“May I come in?” he asked.

“Sure.” I replied. “Fuck this headache.” I groaned out, squinting my eyes in pain as the thumping in my skull became more insistent. “Do you’ve anything for this?”
