Five years later

My name was well pronounced in the office, even without the name on the desk you'd know the office was mine.

The huge white office desk was in the middle of the very large spacious and equiped office.

Just the way I like it, my new office was spotless and had my pictures hung on the wall. Mom and dad's picture was there too, I smiled. Yes that satisfactory smile.

The title and role I bared still gave me goose bump all over my body, the board of directors undoubtedly had great intentions picking me as the new "Chief Executive Officer, CEO.

My eyes ransacked the office more.

"You deserve it dear, you've worked so hard" Dad's voice trailed behind me.

"You started from the least now look where you are, I'm so proud of you" mom said pulling me into a hug.

"Thanks mom"

"I have come so far"

Mom's oval face glowed, her thick brown hair was coiled up and was on her shoulders, her smile was everything to me, seeing her happy was something that brightened my mood, mom has thick eyebrows and long lashes and I also have them, her lips was shaped like a bow and it looked really cute, if I was a guy I would fall for her but since people say I look like my mom and that I'm an exact replica of her, then I must be beautiful.

Dad patted me on my back.

"My little princess is now a big girl, I can't believe the Clarissa I see now, was the Clarissa of five years ago" he pulled me into a side hug.

"Dad, things happen and people learn, people change and people become better, I agree with you that I was a little stupid and too naive back then but nah not anymore, I'm no longer the 18 years old Clarissa Vicente, I'm not dad, I'm a change person, it's been five years already, enough reason and time for me to change"

"I'm so glad to hear that"

"And you know I may not have a boy child and I don't think I need one cause your my all in one" Dad said and I smiled.

"Thank you dad, you can go back home now and please mom do not throw a party okay"

"But Rissa you just got promoted"

"Mom it's fine, I don't need a party, if you insist on throwing it just know I won't attend"

"Rissa, you don't need to be too up tight" mom said but I ignored her.

I mean I had a party just three months ago for my graduation and now she wants to throw another party for my promotion, what a complete waste of money, beside I'll be too busy.

"Rissaaaa" she drawled.

"Mom"

"We don't even get to see you, after returning from school, you got yourself a house, I haven't even had a proper chat with you"

"Mom that's because I'm always busy, but you know what, I'm gonna stay over this weekend that's a promise"

"Today is Friday"She retorted.

"Then I'll becoming over today"

"Really?"

"Yes mom. Umh dad, my secretary when is she arriving?"

"She's here her name is Rebecca"

"That's good" I sighed.

~~~~~~~
Five years have gone since the incident, I've grown, I was immature then.
I was stupid, falling in love was of the craziest things I did back then.
I made mistakes. Of course I fucked up.
After I was discharged from the hospital that day, I never heard from Vaxel, he didn't call, and I didn't either, I didn't care, I got other things to worry about.
But I still cursed myself every single day for believe those sly words that came from his mouth, I still blame myself for causing so much pain to my family that day.
Everyday I leave in regrets. I only feel bad because I trusted him and he broke my trust, I gave him my heart and he shattered it. I fought for our relationship every single time but he couldn't.
I was even about running away with him, how silly of me, if dad didn't go searching for me that cold horrible night, I would have died, I was comotose for three days all in the name of love, how silly was I back then.
If he only told me he wouldn't make it that night, maybe I wouldn't feel so much resentment for him.
After everything, I focused on changing myself, I'm no longer that weakling, or someone who would be deceived easily, I'm no longer gullible. I've always been an intelligent girl but I studied harder.
Came out with the best degree in business Administration.
I worked from the list job in my family's chocolate company now look where I am.
I'm the CEO, life is going with my flow.
~~~~~~

"Miss Clarissa, your meeting with manufacturing team in twenty minutes time, but right now you have a ten minute meeting with Mr Lim, in regards of his suspension" Rebecca said.

Rebecca's accent was pleasant to my ears, she knows her work and does it properly, I haven't known her for much but I know she's hardworking.

"His suspension? Wasn't that to be treated like a week ago?" I narrowed my brows.

"Yes miss but, the former CEO was unable to conclude"

"Okay? What was Mr Lim's crime?" I took my eyes of the screen off my laptop then turned to face her.

"He missed several days of work, called in sick buy his reports says he wasn't sick, because of his act we lost two great deals" She explained and I heaved a sigh.

"Well, he messed up, write him a suspension letter of three weeks, he's salary will be deducted and he'll be demoted" I sighed loudly moving my chair around.

"Miss?"

"You heard me right Rebecca and that should be an example to all workers here, you can leave now, I have a lot of work on my hands right now"

"Okay Miss"
