Chapter 75

Violet’s P.O.V.

The way my heart spasmed whenever he said something hurtful was agonizing. Every spiteful word he hurled at me yanked and pulled at the mate-bond to the point where I wondered if it would eventually give in and shatter. I bit the inside of my cheek, the swift sting of pain drawing me away from my aching heart and back to the present.

Hael pulled into a parking spot but made no move to turn off the car. Instead, he angled his body towards me and waited with impatient eyes. I groaned inwardly at the weight of his stare. It would’ve been easier to relive this while he was distracted with driving. The last thing I wanted was for him to watch as I stumbled over my words.

“Well, it’s similar to Arianna’s story…only I didn’t murder three children.” I mumbled, glancing up at Hael through my lashes.

After re-reading this chapter I noticed that she didn’t fully shift when she fought back against the 5 boys but Lacey said that they did it ‘together’. Makes me wonder if she can half shift to inflict the kind of damage she did, and the memory loss is also associated with that.
