Broken Woman

The two of us stared at each other in silence. It was almost like we both seemed to be coming to terms with the fact that we were in each other’s presence right then.

“What are you doing here?” Were the next set of words to fly out of her own mouth just as I thought it.

“I should be the one asking you what you’re doing here,” I returned, my brows furrowing. This wasn’t good. This definitely wasn’t good. “What are you doing in the pack, Meera? Or should I say, Elizabeth?”

She sneered at me.

“Say or do whatever you want, it has nothing to do with me. Besides, there’s no way you can prove all of that, can you I?” She snorted. “Just mind your own business for once.”

I felt annoyance running through me as soon as she said those words and I grabbed her hand, pulling her tightly.

“I,” I emphasized. “At the Luna of this pack, and it is my duty to know what the bell you’re doing here, Meera. If you won’t tell me then I will tell everyone who you are. Maybe that will spur you into action,” I fi
