Esme’s Discovery

Arielle’s POV:

I got back home minutes later, still deep in thought. I had barely passed the entrance when I heard a soft female voice call me.

“You’re back early,” I heard and turned my head to see Aunt Esme walking in through the main living room. Her expression was genial and kind, which always warmed my heart whenever I saw her. But then she had a curious look on her face. “What’s wrong? You’re worried about something, aren’t you, dear?”

How did she know that?

It was only then that I realized that I was worrying my bottom lip with my teeth.

I quickly released my lip, giving her a sheepish smile, trying to mask all the confusion that I felt inside.

“I’m fine, aunt Esme,” I began to speak but she then raised her hand to stop me from saying anymore.

Before I knew it she had taken a hold of my hand and was leading me to the living room.

I was made to sit down on one of the couches, and I watched as she walked over to the pitcher of water, pouring some into a glass cup and bringing it
